With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

His final season he was doing amazing. Had a mediocre team at 8-3 then he partially tore a tendon in his throwing arm and they ended 8-8.

I would have liked to have seen one more glorious season maybe get me and the kids to one final game before he left for good.

It's been fun watching him for the ;ast 10 years. I really am bummed about this.

He should have never joined the Jets last season. Just not the same seeing him in the green and white. Now the Packers fans have to throw away his jerseys - that sucks! Plus how embarassing for the Jets to lose the last game of the season to the Dolphins, who in turn won the division!  That was great for me and my husband, since we are Dolphins fans. At least Marino never left Miami! What is happening to francise players nowdays? There is just no loyalty!

It's not Brett Favre it was Ted Thompson. He'd been trying to force Favre out for years. The whole soap opera would never have taken place if Thompson could swallow his ego for a few years and support Favre. Thompson avoided picking up players to help Favre (a decent running back and Randy Moss) and let players go that Favre felt were important to the team. As soon as Rogers becomes quarterback Thompson spends and ENTIRE draft on offensive help. But Thompson wanted his mark on the team and couldn't stand being in Favre's shadow. Plus Thompson and the head coach were putting out false stories about Favre during the retirement dispute to gain sympathy. I don't think anyone can say Favre sunk that low. He wanted to play and stuck to his guns.

Nobody should question Favre's loyalty or committment. That fool played for 16 years through injury, personal tragedy and with very little help for most of them. He could have left many times for better teams and more realistic chances at a Super Bowl but he stuck it out and when he thought he still had more to give, Green Bay said fuck you. Favre is the reason that team is profitable and that the executives are making seven figure salaries.

That being said I love Chad Pennington and think he is one classy fucker so I was very glad to see him do well.

I do like Favre and thought he got a raw deal, but it was painful to watch him go out like that. That sucks.
And yes, Pennington is awesome! What a great leader! And thankfully the Tuna is staying on for another season!! I'm sure the Dolphins won't do as well this year (did you see their schedule  ) but it was great to see them win the division!

I'm going to hold out hope that Favre still working out means his retirement will be short lived.

At least the Lakers got Lamar Odom signed. My world hasn't collapsed fully yet. Close.
