Yep, I Think I Need It Too will be the single (Sept. 28) album comes out Oct. 14.

Sorry but I don't see that song being a top 10 single.

4 songs snippets will be on official site Tuesday, hopefully one of those songs won't be I Need it Too.

I wonder how many people on here will pay to download the single, almost everyone has heard the song at this point, it's been on youtube for a long time ago. I have an album version recorded off that Brazilian radio show. Just so anti-climatic, I want to support the band but I think they're making a bad choice with this song.

Arrgh. The words "Think I Need it Too single release." Will be the first time with the Bunnymen that I have held off for the album and not bought the single first.

Think I Need It Too is not a good choice at all (personally I would have preferred Forgotten Fields), but inevitable. At least now it finally gets released and we can look forward to hearing other new(ish) material. Hit single. Unlikely.

Am I the only person that actually likes this song? It has a good beat and its easy to dance to, I give it a 94...

I like most of the song actually, but the chorus is just lame, it sounds like a band that's over the hill, showing it's age and desperately looking for a hit single. Just my 2 cents.

I think the Bunnymen and/or management will be a little surprised when they release this in September and it's not anywhere close to being a top 10 single. I hope it is for their sake but I don't see it happening. I get the feeling this will be the last Bunnymen album if it tanks.

Is anyone expecting a Bunnymen song to be in the top 10 anymore? Of course it would be nice, but I certainly don't expect it. I'm just glad they are still making new music with all the lame shit that is out these days.

I'm the opposite on 'its alright'. like the chorus think the rest is shite. not so sure about 'whatever you waaa-aaant' etc.

That's what was wrong with Siberia. Most of the songs had either a great verse and shit chorus or vice versa. Except for Parthenon Drive. The entire song is God awful and is the most boring thing the Bunnymen have ever done.

Yeah, the chorus is really lame, not the tune, just the lyrics. I dont know why, but it also reminds me of something Cliff Richard might release: "Guys, I've got this really top tune with guitars and stuff, much more rockier, best thing I have released since Move It, they'll play it on Radio 2 now because it's so good".

As for the album, there is absolutely no reason why any band in their 50s cannot chart a top 40 album anymore, at least in the UK, but only if the material is good enough.

I don't think the management or the band are under any delusion that it'll sell like hot cakes. They'll probably get some press for doing the "radical" self-released album (although it's not that radical because it's mostly done by dropped bands without a label). Digital release only albums have not been particularly successful for most bands. I think they just want to get it out, do the next tour. They might even find a label from self-releasing it that would give them the encouragement to stay together and maybe work on another album.

Still, looking forward to hearing the rest of it.
