are there any other bands?

General discussion about the band, live shows, its recordings or bootlegs, etc. You can buy, sell or trade here. You can even post eBay links. If it's about the Bunnymen, it goes here.

I find Interpol dull, dull, dull. As for Joy Division, to me they're like the Velvet Underground- none of the bands I really love would exist as we know them had they not blazed the trail.

good comparisons here...agree with the Chameleons... I think "script of the bridge"
is a masterpiece....sort of dreamy, melodic..... My fave Chameleons song would be "TEARS"... Mark Burgess is a genius..

I think that song is as good as "Killing Moon"....

I would have to put Interpol into Joy Division genre....just like the band White Lies...

Mighty Lemon Drops would come close if I comparing early Bunnymen stuff...

The first two Modern English albums, although not sounding exactly the Bunnymen, are total post-punk masterpieces. Also, Hugh Jones produced After the Snow.

Sorry, this is a very obvious one, but as far as the same caliber, gotta go with Joy Division. Some say there's a little bit of Unknown Pleasures in Crocodiles, and I think in that half assed Mac autobio, the one where he's smoking stogie on the front, he says he was actually threatened by JD b/c he felt they were so good. I think there's a Will quote too about how he felt of all their "contemporaries" only JD really changed the face of music.

The early Banshess stuff def. rates up there, and in Turquoise Days there's mention of Pete admiring Budgie's drumming.

The Chameleons, often overlooked, but a great band of that era.

As for Interpol. loved their first album, and it reminded me more of The Chameleons than Bunnymen. None of their stuff past that album has really clicked with me.

Not Even Jail
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts
