Buyer's Remorse Frank?

I was curious if Obama has performed to your expectations or if he's let you down so far or something in the middle? I know a lot of people who are invested in him and can't bring themselves to admit any shortcomings.

I am fairly unhappy with his Auto company dealings as they heavily favor the unions and his Supreme Court pick is pretty disturbing to me.

With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Anyone but Bush or Cheney. Or Clarence Thomas.

What has Clarence Thomas ever done to you?

I have no idea about this woman. I remember thinking Palin was a good idea before I knew anything about her.

I now wait for as many skeletons as possible to come out before I say anything about nominees.

If you are against judicial activism, it seems fair to be opposed to this nominee.

Mmmmmm, pickled onions.

I just would like someone who is fair to everyone and strives to be colorblind when making their rulings. Based on her quotes and her ruling on the CT firefighters it seems she can't be.

I heard her on NPR this morning- they played this quote from a few years ago. She was on a panel at Duke Law and was "joking" about legislating from the bench.

"All of the legal defense funds out there, they're looking for people with court of appeals experience, because it is--court of appeals is where policy is made.

"And I know, and I know this is on tape and I should never say that, 'cause we don't make law--I know. [Audience laughter] Okay, I know, I know. I'm not promoting it, and I'm not advocating it, I'm, you know..."

Not too sure about this woman... Just because she's female and Latina (like bf's mom) doesn't mean she's right for the job...

The impression I got listening to the clip is she is being serious about legistlating from the bench and the rest is nudge, nudge, wink, wink stuff in case this was ever used against her.

That's how I heard it, too.

He should have nominated me. I'm a chick.

It is not often in life one can say that with conviction. This may be one of those times.

Sure. I don't think I ever stated that I thought just getting him into the White House was gonna fix what ails our country. I was a little worried about the Detroit thing at the beginning, but I'm over it. To tell you the truth, I live and work in the city and haven't driven in over 10 years. The only thing that troubles me about the automakers going under is the loss of jobs. I do think some of that's on the workers, though. The writing's been on the wall for decades. We are no longer a manufacturing society.
