The Obligatory Depeche Mode thread

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Jesus, I hope that's not true!

That story is being deleted by moderators on DM message boards the world over...
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

Didn't know that.
Also hope it's not true but it being deleted my mods doesn't really give a clue as to whether
it is or not.

The thing I cant understand is that Dave did the entire Devotional Tour (14 mths) smacked off his tits. If he was back on the stuff why would it stop the tour dead in its tracks?

My wife did point out, however, that he was drinking lager on Later With Jools Holland which junkies are not supposed to do as it lowers their resistance to temptation.

Could be something...

If he is in Rehab with the world's press sniffing around they have done really well to keep it quiet. On the other hand DM's management silence on the matter (not even a press release saying - "Dave's in hospital, he's doing well") has just fuelled all the speculation and legal action is being threatened all over the shop if people dare imply Dave's fallen off the wagon.

I'm hoping its just bad management / PR.

I emailed he guy I know who's working on the tour, he said that the crew has been told nothing but the Tour manager when asked for any info shrugs his shoulders and says " I Know Nothing"........

Intresting thing is that he did confirm Dave Gahan is back in the USA with little sign of returning..... He doubts the O2 show will take place.......

Bodes little hope for Hamburg two days later then. Kack!

Could have been an overdose - hence the cancellation.
The lager thing is a bit odd.
They have done a good job of keeping things quiet but the've said nothing for about a week now which, apart from being worrying is, as you said, only fuelling speculation. We all know that you're not out of commission for two weeks with the scutters. They must be taking management lessons from the Bunnymen.
I'd just like to know whether or not I'm going out next Tuesday night.

Wow. That is pretty heavy duty - a rock cliche that doesn't seem to happen very often anymore- no - Stone Temple Pilots. The Church.

Who has been on the smack among actual touring bands in the last decade?

"Polyps in his Passage" - sounds like the sequel track to "Scissors in the Sand".

They're not represented by Porcupine Management are they?
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts
