I think this was the first Bunnymen website I ever saw:

http://www.dez.com/doug/bunnymen.html

Even has audio, though my computer & crappy dial-up connection at the time wouldn't allow me to play it

Hey I remember that one. Holy fuck that brings back some memories.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Via the Seven Seas mailing list, which I've been on and off of a thousand times since the advent of email, Ivan did post his side of the story. If my feeble brain remembers correctly, he full well admitted to funneling all the funds people paid for orders and using it for personal reasons. Something about a daughter he either didn't know about or hadn't seen in years and buying a suit for job interviews ?!?! Anyone remember this? But he also said there were all kinds of things on the management side which they didn't live up to (not hard to believe it seems). They promised him various promo items for those contests he used to run. The contest would end and they would leave him high and dry for the items he was supposed to send to the winning contestants. I think he also followed the band around on probably his own dime. And according to him he we not being compensated for running the site either.

I do remember the PTB posting an apology and saying they had no idea what was going on. It does seem strange that a management team from the UK would be so uninvolved with a site for one of their band clients, and letting someone an ocean a way do all the work. As for Ivan, I feel for the guy, but two wrongs don't make a right. The management fucked him over, that's messed up. But taking funds that fans have handed over and using it for your own needs, regardless of the circumstances, is obviously a no no.

And Seven Seas......could be fun and informative, but a lot of condescending dickheads as well. Red was always nice though!

Exactly how many aliases to you have, Red?

Archaeologist have found evidence of the earliest primitive Bunnymen fanzines in fragmented cuneiform tablets.

Is this like one of those things where you've been fighting with your wife, so you find yourself pining for your ex-girlfriend that you haven't seen in 5 years, and who was kind of a bitch, but you don't remember that because your wife's a bitch too?

Or when your most recent wife refuses to eat her mushrooms? Yeah I guess it's sort of like that. I guess.

A case could be made for it being in the Bunnymen section of the forum but since it's not directly related to the Bunnymen I am going to move it to Over The Wall.

It's exactly like that.

I got my stuff from Ivan.
Granted, I only ever ordered an Electrafixion Sweatshirt but it arrived (huge) after a few months and stinking of mould. The smell came out after a dozen or so washes.
Every word is like an unnecessary stain on silence and nothingness.

So you're still ahead compared to your most recent Bunnymen order.

Has anyone got their Ocean Rain CDs yet?

i heard the story about the daughter from someone too. when he first appeared he was on about making all the original albums available for download and subsequently became webmaster. writing on the wall there I'd say (with several years hindsight obviously). he used to do all those animations and he used to get really cross if you said you didn't like anything he'd done - but not as cross as if you referred to him as the web nazi, what with him being 10% jewish and all i can understand that. He once tried to get us all to pay for a new laptop for him and he used to delete threads all the time. happy days. the first bunnymen related site I came across was the electrafixion site by that bloke off the seven seas list.
