General discussion about the band, live shows, its recordings or bootlegs, etc. You can buy, sell or trade here. You can even post eBay links. If it's about the Bunnymen, it goes here.

This thread is the new Lime Tree Arbour.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

lol right. Read back, I did say I was aware about my hypocracy with the namecalling. I called you a diva, you called me, if memory serves, a dick hole, which on the whole is slightly more offensive than "Diva" but nevermind. You are so right, me so wrong, you so high, me so low. Everyone, Jack is right!!

I obviously rub you up the wrong way, its mutual and probably should be left there.

Personally, I find "dickhole" much less offensive and much more humorous than "diva" I've never giggled to myself when reading the word "diva", but "dickhole" makes me laugh every time.

Let me concede that what you have said is 100% correct. There is no call for me to dispute lawfully adjudicated findings. (I'm being serious.)

If you would bear with me, I'd like to make a point that is not stupid at all, and is not meant to throw fuel onto a fire:

I think this sums up why one might reasonably be skeptical of the no-riot/cover up explantation (which I concede to be correct):

1) It is non-disputable that riots (of the kind that did NOT happen in this case) have happened and have resulted in the grave injuries of those present.

2) It is also a matter of record that English soccer hooliganism has been regarded (whether fairly or unfairly) as especially a problem in the international football community. My impression is that this has turned around.

3) It is also a matter of record that Liverpool has been a noted transgressor in this regard, although maybe not as bad some, but worse than others.

Now this does not all mean that a riot happened on this particular instance, or that the cops did not cover it up. But, to the outside observer, IT SEEMS LIKE A HUGE COINCIDENCE.

Why hasn't there been a non-riot that the cops covered up at a Ricky Martin concert? At a cricket match? At a Mets-Astros game? For all the places for a non-soccer riot to occur and for the cops to "make it all up", it happened in the one place and time in the world were such an explanation seems most plausible.

Again, this is not proof, and I have no standing to question the official finding, just explaining why a person could jump to the wrong conclusion. I also admit that I am biased towards cops; I am naturally skeptical when they are blamed for the deaths of citizens and of acting in the most craven and depraved manner imagineable.

Another night of shame for the Scousers. 100's of fans turning up ticketless, or with fake tickets and jumping over the barriers to get in and causing a riot.

I can't remember who they blamed for that one on though.

A much less long-winded way of saying what I said a couple of posts back is that if you have a situation where the conspiracy theory is actually the true explanation, you can understand that people are rightfully pre-disposed against conspiracy theories. (Except insanejane who ONLY believes conspiracy theories.)
