Point of note, they didn't. Innocent people died that day just minding their own business. The lack of compassion some people have is pretty disturbing.

From what I've been reading it doesn't seem like rioting so much as anxious fans filling in the stadium area too quickly and very little in the way of crowd control or cohesive action by security once it was apparent something was going wrong.

And those steel fences look borderline barbaric.

The Jimmy McGovern play has been in ITV Iplayer for about a month, i've just checked again but unfortunately they've taken it off and it isn't on DVD. If you ever get the chance try to watch it.
