Who likes M83?

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Who likes M83?

Check them out if you haven't heard them, awesome, especially live. 50% instrumental, some dance-y, some ballad-y, some MBV guitar that will rip your head off.

Here's a dance-y one off the latest album:

And you know that I'll pick up
Every time you call
Just to thank you one more time

I am a big M83 fan. I actually like the band a lot more after Fromageau left. Many pitchforkerians blast the bands releases after Dead Cities because Fromageau is absent.

Before The Dawn Heals Us has some of the most amazing late night driving music I have heard in a long time.

M83 really shows how shoegaze can move forward.

I like the new album. I have one complaint - spoken parts by female "actresses" in the songs. They are done on Heal and Sat. They are terrible. The worst offender is the one in Graveyard Girl. Take an otherwise amazing song and put a part in it even a fifteen year old would laugh at:

"I'm going to jump the walls and run
I wonder if they'll miss me?
I won't miss them
The cemetery is my home
I want to be a part of it
Invisible even to the night
Then I'll read poetry to the stones
Maybe one day I could be one of them
Wise and silent
Waiting for someone to love me
Waiting for someone to kiss me
I'm fifteen years old
And I feel it's already too late to live
Don't you?"

I feel ya, that song I think it's called Car Chase Terror, that song kicks so much major ass, but you have to sit thru two minutes of that corny ass mom-daughter stalker dialogue. Well, he's French, so I cut him slack.

What do you mean cutting him some slack cause he's French? We're still eating Freedom Fries here at the VT message boards.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts
