I remember when he sent me a PM about having two forum screen names and it was kind of accusatory in tone. The old screen name was 2 years old with 2 posts to its name which I had completely forgotten about and hadn't touched in two years. He referred to it as "the offending account" which struck me as a bit odd sounding.

But then the remaining correspondence on removing it was as pleasant as could be.

Who knows? I have no ill will for the guy and only rarely post on the official forum cause most of my posts here are fart jokes which don't seem appopriate at the official site. Although in my defense Chris Adams said I was funny with both Jack and withahip as witnesses. Unfortunately Jack hasn't been the same since.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I have to say though accusing a VT member of threatening to kill him was pretty awesome.

Yes it is up to them how they do what they do. That is the whole point of the criticism. If it were not up to them, then criticism would be pointless, correct?

I would disagree strongly with the notion that the opinion of the fans is irrelevent. In fact, I would say that nothing could be more relevant. (You could say that they pay for the forum with money that comes, utlimately, from the fans.)

As far as getting defensive, I'm not sure who you are referring to, as I am not aware of anyone who is defending anything (except for you, who seems to be defending the status quo of the official forum).

He did the same thing to me and then banned me when I called him out in pm (not on the board) for accusing a VT member of threatening him without proof. He said, "I have proof and it is now in the hands of the band's lawyers."

Stilled banned.
Yeah, great guy.

I wonder how that case is coming along. I'm actually surprised the forum lets you use the word "lawyers."

I believe they based an episode of Law & Order on it.

Defending the status quo? Just cold hard facts about who pays and hires and fires. From what you are saying you are suggesting that to fit in around here people must be anti the official forum? Why can't the two co-exist without the need for tetchyness if someone attempts to stick up for Peter, or are you snotty to most people? I never personally thought what the fans think is irrelevant, merely that the people who pay for and run the official site obviously don't see these concerns as relevant otherwise Peter would have been ousted, there's a difference.

I'm not here to fall out with people, I'm p*ssed off with the official forum but not because of the band, management or Peter, more the piss poor threads and content. I should have stuck to rubbing down my bellypan tonight, bikes don't go all Diva on you.

Maybe the threads and content are piss poor because there's nothing to talk about because there's never any interesting news coming from Peter, the band or management? Could that have something to do with it?? Maybe because most questions by fans go unanswered... I seem to remember Peter promising streaming tracks of the Fountain about, oh, 2 or 3 months ago.

In fact that's been pretty much the MO over there, promise, promise, promise and never deliver. And I'm not blaming Peter since it's obviously out of his hands I would think.

There's only so many different ways to start a thread talking about your favorite Bunnymen album.

Like I said, pretty sad state of affairs over there.

Did you ever think that the threads are lacking because anything that isn't blind praise gets deleted and the poster gets banned?

Or are you saying the people at the official forum are lame? That's quite diva.
