With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

thought I would shake it up with some non alternative/indy choices
I really love these songs -- most of them are songs I grew up listening to courtesy of my parents and they always strike a chord with me
I could suggest even more
Love on the Rocks always reminds me of my dad -- he is a big ND fan and whenever I hear that song I always think of him sitting in our front room at home with his headphones on singing along -- it always makes me smile ..
Now I know what to buy him for his birthday !!!
The Take That song is one of my faourite songs of the last few years -- I really think it is a beautiful song -- it reminds a bit of the bunnymen in places......
The Harry Seacombe songs has interesting lyirics and is a song my mum used sing a lot
she is also a massive Shirley Bassey fan
I like Dionne Warwick, Nina Simone and Dusty Springfield as there is something very dangerous about them

Nice choice with So What. I avoided instrumentals in my list, but nobody can argue with a selection like that.
Same with Love Supreme. Was Elvin Jones the best drummer ever, or what?

He was! I was lucky enough to see him 3-4 times before he passed on. He was amazing. Glad you liked my selection.
