I wonder if his days at Fox are numbered.

Years ago I would have agreed with Mr. Smith but not so much now and it's not something I take lightly.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I am slowly losing all interest in politics - the concept of loyal opposition has my friends on the left and the the right convinced I am their opposite if I don't agree with their party platform/leaders' propaganda 100%.

I like my buds better than I like any politician.

You're either with us or against us and your buying a rice rocket is a pretty good indicator I can't count on your support!

Back in 1983, the Reagan Justice Department saw fit to prosecute obtain a conviction on a Texas Sheriff for "water torture". Let me repeat that: the Justice Department (once considered a third branch of gov't, a check and balance to the Whitehouse and Congress), under Ronald Reagan (the godhead of the current republican party), prosecuted a government officer (the Sheriff of San Jacinto County in Texas) for civil rights violations (water torture to gain confessions). And we can't appoint an independent prosecutor now why?

I guess because you would have to prosecute congress who was fully apprised and approved of all enhanced interrogation methods, including, but not limited to, Nancy Pelosi. If they actually tried to follow through with some sort of ridiculous prosecution, they would end up looking like idiots. Congress had a chance to declare waterboarding illegal via legislation introduced by Ted Kennedy. It was shot down, illustrating two facts: 1) Congress believed it was currently legal, and 2) they wanted to keep it that way.

BTW, do you have a good source for that '83 waterboarding case that isn't a left-wing blog? Post up a link if you can find one.

Can we waterboard Nancy Pelosi?

Published: March 20, 1983

The Sheriff of San Jacinto County has resigned after admitting he operated a marijuana trap on heavily traveled U.S. 59 as well as subjected jail inmates to water torture to gain confessions and testimony.

James C. Parker, 47 years old, entered the guilty pleas Friday to an extortion charge and two Federal civil rights violations before Federal District Judge Gabrielle McDonald. Mr. Parker, who could have been sentenced to a total of 40 years on the charges, agreed to plead guilty in exchange for a recommendation of three-year terms for each of the civil rights violations and five years of probation for extortion.
