New Yeah Yeah Yeahs

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

New Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Doesn't sound like Blondie - but I think if you like Blondie you will like the new one.

And she dances like a cross between Billy Squier and Pat Benetar!

I agree. I've only heard a few of their other songs before the new album, I really like the Maps song off their first album. The new album is really catchy. I wouldn't say the album is great or anything but pretty good.

I never heard of them until I saw them on SNL the other night. I really liked them. The guitar player was really good and the chick is a good singer with a quirky vibe.

I think that's part of Karen O's whole image/schtick.

She sure has an interesting fashion sense. I think she's trying to out-80's the 80's.

There's something sexy about her, though.

Bad news - after a few listens , I feel after track 6 the cd is a drag. And there are another slow six songs to get through. I mean these tunes do not stand out. I don't expect every one to be an Ocean Rain or Please Please Let Me Get What I want - but at least be memorable. It is coffee shop open mic material.

And the cd wasn't cheap. 18 bucks at one of the few indie stores left I like to support.

Record companies need to stop forcing these artists to fill a cd with 70 minutes of music. I could have downloaded the first six tacks for 6 dollars.

(I think .67 pound is a US dollar)

YEah - I have the feeling her dancing is supposed to be joke if you are over 30 while supposed to connect with the kids at the same time. Like Kim Gordon here:

Maps is one of the best songs of the 00's.And she's a sexy MF as well.Even if she does look like Olive from On the Buses.

well said that man. the more is more society must stop now. also agree with smiffy. top bird. the nme had a jolly good picture of her in mid flight intheir calendar a few years back. now they'vew gone all post feminist by getting the chubby bint from that other american lot to get her norks out for every interview, which she seems to be most happy to do in a post ironic doing it for sisterhood kind of way.

That's a chick? I thought that was Andy Fletcher with a wig.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

She and her band are cool. Too late to see them in a decent, intimate venue-though I did hear something about the Camden Crawl. She is unconventionally sexy and talented-reminds me of Mac's line "an ugly beauty was my own invention."
I'll go and see Rozi Plain again instead. You wouldn't know it from her MySpace site (well she doesn't want her best work ripped) but yesterday I got two of her albums posted though my door and both of them ARE Ocean Rain.

what? she had two copies of ocean rain and she sent them both to you? being young she's probably put them on her ipod and thinks she'll never need them again. My wont she be sorry when it conks out or they bring out a slightly different shaped affair and just has to have it and woe of woes her hard drive has gone the same way. my ipod has all three copies of ocean rain on just so I can get in the mood for the era I'm wishing to wallow in - just waiting to add the live version and then I'll send them all to you too if thats now the acceped method of getting rid of all the old tat.
