First of all, it's a SPECTACULAR album. And the best song is Higher Hell. Or Heads will Roll.

Nah, I picture her writing all original songs. Granted, they would all be about PMing and Iceland and rejection, but they would be original.

If I had to single some out for special attention it would be
Clay, Porcupine, Heads Will Roll, My White Devil and The Cutter
This is the correct answer. Every song a winner. It's the only Bunnymen album where I can personally say that. The band definitely pushed themselves more creatively than on any other album. It's too bad they never tried to go back to this on another album. Gotta blame Ian for that one.

I think someone's forgetting "WAYGTDWYL"
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

my white devil and porcupine head to head. followed by all the rest apart from back of love which comes a close, but laudable last. Its a sort of BIG album, as in majesterial, heavy even. I htink Ben Elton ought to write a west end musical based on it. In fact we could do that here, right now. Either that or DJM's band ought to forget their musical differences in the cause of something bigger and do the whole album from start to finish.

I'll start - remember its in the style of a ben elton west end musical. So its got to be about a mychical beast - a porcupine in fact. But not just a porcupine but a pig-porcupine hybrid. The world is being terrorised by a devil, who is white, and the hero is a lowly woodcutter, who a master with the axe seeks revenge on the evil doers who open the musical with their terrorised fearful wail from their seventh floor apartment where they are wrapping christmas presents.n I'll be back in a while with act 2. But feel free to chip in.

A kind suggestion that my band should learn the entire Porcupine album but I gotta draw the line I'm afraid gentleman. It's an only an okay album in my humble opinion. One or two highlights granted, however "WAYGTDWYL" is way under estimated. Great album - very consistent - solid the whole way through. Still not my favourite album but undeniably a cracker.........

Just play "In Bluer Skies" and "Flaming Red" and I'll see your covers band, as long as you play somewhere on the South Coast of England.

Hmmmm.....interesting choices - let me give 'em a listen - been a while since i played them. As for the South Coast - I just need that one off lottery win to fund it! We play Rescue, Killing Moon and Seven Seas currently and we've been looking for more - less obvious Bunnymen songs to cover that works with Vocals/Bass/Drums/Guitar. That format probably works best for the first album - I dunno we'll see. Song suggestions always welcome though.........

WAYGTDWYL - definite creative peak for Mac. He finally was able to shake off the chains of Pete, Will and Les and really soar. Fly. Fly like an eagle into the future. Let his spirit carry him. Dododododododododo.
