Bunnymen tribute acts

Are there any Bunnymen tribute acts that play a set-list that reflects the true greatness of the Bunnymen? (unlike the real band)

I thought the Bunnymen of today are a tribute band to the Bunnymen of yesteryear.

Seriously though, nothing exists. Perhaps that would be one for the fans to form. Just need to get a selection of musicians together. A vocalist. Add into the setlist many of the fans-wanted tracks like "In Bluer Skies" and "Pictures on My Wall", and they could seriously give the real thing a run for the money on the gig circuit.

How about The Australian Echo and The Bunnymen Show? Just as good as the real thing with the added bonus of playing the songs you always wanted to hear that the real band couldn't be arsed playing.

Actually, I heard that Spiral Stairs (guitarist from Pavement) was in a Bunnymen cover band. Don't know if it's true, though.

There's also that guy from San Fran that covered some of the early albums. What I heard was actually pretty cool. I might have to check those albums out.

Just taking a wild guess, I'd imagine across this entire planet, that there's at least a few Bunnymen cover bands. I'd also guess that no one has ever heard of them.

Kelley Stoltz recorded "Crock-O-Dials" which was a cover of the whole album Crocodiles but I don't think he did anything else although it was rumored that he would do Heaven Up Here too. I doubt that would be a good career move to be known for that.

I've never really heard of a Bunnymen tribute act but for some reason I recall a one-off type show that was maybe mentioned here or on the official site.

Back in the old days I helped orchestrate several tribute charity shows where 20 or so local bands shared amps and drums and covered one artist in one night and the door proceeds went to a local charity. It was a great way to pack a house but a lot of work to organize and keep on track. That would be cool if someone did a Bunnymen one.

I believe I am, although some would have you think otherwise!!

Currently in a duo/trio (depending on who turns up) belting out pub sing-a-long classics such as 'That's living alright', Theme from Minder, Theme from Happy Days, plus a whole host more of what the old piss cans want. Have slipped Killing Moon into the set recently too, which has gone down rather well with the punters....

Spent many years as a kid playing locally, busked around Europe and also spent many many hours in my bedroom perfecting Macisms with my vocals too....

Wolverhamperton is a fair way from Warwick mind....

Depends on whether you need a Mac now or Mac before vocalist. Mac before at lower ranges shouldn't be too problematic. I can also do a Mac now. A couple of bottles of whiskey and 100 Marlboro Lights should do the trick, if you don't mind me spewing up between each song. Too far from the Midlands, but the train journey would give me ample time to perfect my vocal technique, by downing more bottles of whiskey and puffing on a few nifty cigs in the train toilet. Any ideas to further damage your vocal chords to get the Mac "technique" welcomed.

About two years ago I asked him about this and told me that his takes on both Heaven Up Here and Porcupine were by then already recorded and would be release soon. Very Bunnymen, no?
