That is just fantastic. Wow - seeing them in a dive bar - up close and rocking out.
I don't care if Ian's voice cracked out - really is just fantastic.

Mac looks down at her legs, tiny skirt, licks lips. Later on, Mac's old chat up one liner (works every time) and the interview commences.

WORST ACT I KNEW EVERYTHING ABOUT: Echo & the Bunnymen. The Liverpool quartet, who I’ve always rated as underranked, were mostly just plain rank. They had to stop one tune mid-song from mucking it up. Frontman Ian McCulloch mumbled a lot and sang with little of his old gusto. They relied too heavily on lackluster recent material (which isn’t to say all their recent stuff is lackluster), but they even sounded half-cocked on the oldie “Back of Love.” Hopefully, they’ll be in better shape Friday afternoon when they headline the big Spin party, although Brits outdoors on a hot Texas day with barbecue in the air isn’t usually a good combination.

I dunno _ I am starting to find an appeal to this "I could give a f4#$%" attitude. The anto rock cliche band is taking rock cliches to the LIMIT!

Ouch! Tho a hot Texas day with barbecue in the air sounds pretty good to me.

Those are great photos! Thanks!

Here's another (more positive) mention:

http://www.nowtoronto.com/daily/story.c ... ent=168566

Fortunately, legendary Liverpudlians, Echo & the Bunnymen, have an entire catalogue of memorable tunes and the ruffled-looking Brits played the best of them to close out the night. The rarity of seeing Ian McCulloch and crew in such a small venue wasn’t lost on those faithfully squeezed into Emo’s, as they ripped through best ofs like Back of Love, Bring on the Dancing Horses and a softer, acoustic take of Killing Moon.
