Echo & The Bunnymen to play Glastonbury

Echo & The Bunnymen have announced that they will headline the John Peel Stage at this year's Glastonbury Festival.

On their official website, the band said that they would play their 1984 LP Ocean Rain in its entirety at the event.

The group previously performed the album at the Liverpool Echo Arena in November last year, and have made an exclusive recording of the concert available on CD via their website.

Echo & The Bunnymen were recently added to the lineup of this year's Camden Crawl festival.

Coming up with discipline to learn those old songs was enough effort for two or three years.
Why write any new songs?

When do you think they'll reach the saturation point?

Thats Grumpy Dave in a muddy field then (mumbling about bees)
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

I'm glad I caught the once in a lifetime never to be repeated Ocean Rain show in New York.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I hear Tay Zonday is doing Chocolate Rain with a full orchestra at Radio City.

Except this time due to economic constraints, the backing orchestra will be this guy...

We all have to cut back on expenses.

its a good idea - the audience will, instead of the usual bozos who turn up to a bunnymen gig (no offence) but be full of razorlight and babyshambles fans crying into their watered down lager (because the drummer's left and pete, despite his promis, is back on the drugs) who will, for a change, get a taste of the whatever it is that the bunnymen are good at - instead of the usual stuff they do at festivals (stand there with a grump on playing the cutter and other asorted 'hits' before shuffling off to the beer tent.

so you think glastos new corporate approach is to have the headliners on in the afternoon so the suits can see bruce & blur and then get back to the golf course whilst the unwashed masses play in the mud? Could work. I thinnk it sells out well in advance - before anyone knows who is going to be on - quite bizarre if you ask me. call me old fashioned and all.
