I must admit that I've never seen any of this type of behavior in any of his gigs I've been to. Maybe a U.S. audience is that much more reverential than a UK one is. It may have something to do with the fact that we only get to see him/the band once every two years (if we're lucky) so we don't take them for granted. Or maybe they just like us better. hahahahahahah!

I think the last Irving Plaza gig I saw, he bitched at everyone in sight the entire time. He got bent out of shape because some dude in the audience had his hand on one of the monitors. IMO, it is either a lack of focus or looking for excuses.

Really? He's never been that bad up here in Boston. I feel very fortunate, indeed.

yeah and he was complaining about the lights the whole time and complained about the audience singing along... yet with all the complaints and commentary, it did seem like he was having fun up there (at the irving plaza gig).

i'm surprised that he had the entire backing band. that's not Mac solo, that's the bunnymen minus Will. very odd... thanks for the review, wish i could have been there....

and backdoor bunnysluts??   LOL you guys crack me up

It was the only time I saw the worst of the Bunnymen or rather Mac. Seemed to also coincide with WAYGTDWYL? bombing and the band getting dropped (sorry, I mean parting) with London Records. The next gig I saw a few years after that was actually one of the best sets they'd done. So maybe the recent grumpiness reflects what is going on within the Bunnymen camp. Hopefully not.

setlist says its solo. the fact that they are there proves they are not the bunnymen but the boys in the band, a bunch of replacable musos. sorry gordy, but you know how it is.

I think he thinks its funny and he's really enjoying himself. Or he's emulating Lou Reed who also does this having people chucked out thing now and again.
Also shows that Will's main purpose is to bring more punters in rather than actually do anything. Sorry Will, but you know how it is.

The setlist was quite similar to the one he played last August in Blackburn when Will cried off-he doesnt really do the full acoustic thing. But I have to agree that Gordy was camping it up somewhat.ALmost as though he thought Mac was Bowie and he was Mick Ronson.Thank goodness we didnt get the guitar blowjob onstage.

I'm coming down and staying over for the April gig - Looking forward to it immensely. As I'm travelling quite a way and spending loadsa cash, I want to ensure I don't get thrown out or berated by Mac, so I'll just have to make sure I don't:

Talk during the gig - Should be ok as I'm on my own.
Get a txt msg or call - I'll turn my phone to silent.
Drink too much - Not much chance of that with the bar closing early(wtf)
Laugh too loud - No worries, nowt to laugh about.

Despite all the negative things on here I'm still looking forward to the gig - Main thing is from what I've read his voice sounds like it's on good form.

Now I've just got to try and find out where I can purchase that remastered Candleland/Mysterio double CD release, so I can learn the words for a sing along (whoops! no sorry can't do that either!) Although if anyone knows where I can get it, the info. will be greatly appreciated.

Getting a dose of Mac's vitriol at a live concert is part of the fun as far as I am concerned. I consider his "I could be unkind, but I won't" comment a great honour- I did not attend this particular concert though, and since there was no "Horses Head" or "Kansas" it would not have been complete value for money from my point of view.

Did "da management" just tell you to say that? Should I go under the police protection scheme now. Move to a safe house, change my name?

Negative? Here?
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Shit I was looking around and didn't know it was discontinued already. Ebay maybe?

I've tried ebay but no luck.

I think I'm stuck with downloading it from Amazon, but I would have liked to buy it.

It is very frustrating that I can't buy a release that is only 2 years old![/img]
