Liverpool Echo show to be released on CD/DVD

In case you don't get the official e-mails (I've posted it here too. I keep forgetting this is a discography site!). I've reworded it a bit for brevity's sake and since the e-mail did not include things the website mentioned.

Echo & The Bunnymen are offering a CD recording of the Ocean Rain set from the Liverpool Echo Arena show on November 27th 2008.

This CD will only be available via the band's website bunnymen.com and not available in stores.

This deluxe edition will include :

* CD audio of the live “Ocean Rain” performance
* DVD featuring visuals of some of the classic band images projected at the show, with the option of a voice over from Mac & Will.
* Also on the DVD will be a 20 minute ‘behind the scenes’ documentary – with unseen footage (including rehearsals for the shows), with Mac & Will’s reminiscences and recollections.
* An 8 page booklet, that includes exclusive photos of the show taken by the official tour photographer.
* All copies will be autographed by Mac & Will.

The first 1,000 copies ordered will be inscribed to the individual fan, or name of your choice.

The cost of the CD/DVD is £30 (currently about $42USD) + shipping
This release will be dispatched on or before May 1st 2009

Unusually, in the midst of dodgy compilations and countless reissues, looks like the Bunnymen have come up with a gem of CD/DVD release there. And, of course, for every sale, £1.49 or something like that will go to needy Irish people employed by PayPal.

Wonder if there will be any PR done on it beyond the website....

They probably will, given that the release was not written by Peter. The coherency, lack of typos and complete sentences prove that. So if they've hired a real PR firm, then it should be marketed to some degree.

Perhaps they're giving the so-called hardcore fans a chance to be among the first 1,000 (for that chance at an inscription) before opening it up to the general public.

Also, why didn't Peter create a throwaway email account? Now everyone who places an order has his email address at Apple, as well as his phone number.
