For Red

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

and the rest of you Sigur Ros sissies! I'm sure you're aware of this but...

With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

thanks!

i must admit, i've never given Sigur Ros a chance... i like the "mainstream" songs that get played on BBC6 and stuff, but i don't own any of their albums. but hey, this is free, so i'll give it a listen

That is a great track.

I saw Sigur Ros at the Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool which has amazing acoustics and it was the most gut wrenchingly moving concert in parts. Untitled 8 from () blew the roof off the place.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

You mean this track, apparently it's also known as Popplagið

I saw Ros at Massey Hall in TO.
A few shows I can recall as being truly memorable. That was one.

One of the most memorable moments that this link will not do justice to is the playing of
Svegn G with the Smaskifa bird silhouettes flying to a wire and off again behind.

Here is a full broadcast is high def - kind of

who are you callin' a sissie, you sissie???

that's the cd i mentioned earlier, (in this thread http://forum.villiersterrace.com/viewtopic.php?t=1380) and then Frank posted the link where you can buy it for £2! got a copy at Shaz's house waitin for me! (well, as soon as it gets there, that is...it's been ordered)

anyway --- this band is AMAZING live!!!! saw them in Philly in 2003. haven't been able to catch them since, for one reason or another (like ticketbastard being greedy jerks) but i intend to see them next time they come around, no matter what! what scouser said about them being gut-wrenching is so true! i HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the dvd 'Heima'. if you have that, you're set! it's probably the most beautiful live concert footage i've ever seen! EVER! the scenery and the people make it so much better than a stage setting. you can tell they just love playing their music! it's so refreshing to see a band that's really passionate about what they do these days! (rather than just wanting to get famous, or make a buck.)

i have all their albums and recommend any of them...they're all amazing! the first one is more experimental, like Will's early solo stuff, but the rest are more like the stuff you're hearing on this thread. hard to choose one.

and Wojo...what's your problem? stop trying to ruin a good thread with your negativity, ya big dork! Image

btw...thanks BF!

this is still one of my favourites...

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2nBpMq86OSY&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2nBpMq86OSY&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

oh...and some of you Star Wars people might find this amusing! LOL

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-EA8JB691UU&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-EA8JB691UU&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

but this is still my very favourite video:
