Should I get Mysterio?

General discussion about the band, live shows, its recordings or bootlegs, etc. You can buy, sell or trade here. You can even post eBay links. If it's about the Bunnymen, it goes here.

Well I wouldn't say it's better. It's definitely different than Candleland in many respects. Les synth, more guitars, more structured rock songs, different subject matter and mood, etc. I just prefer Mysterio like I prefer Heaven Up Here over Crocodiles. It's just a matter of taste.

"Better than Candleland!", raves Gene Shallit.

I found Candleland to be a consistent if subdued album and while Mysterio might be less consistent it has some genuine rocking moments that stand out. I still think Slideling is the best of the bunch.

I find solo Ian now makes me feel like I am in the cab of a truck with a hot pedantic half-blood driving.*

It's not a flatbed, I'm not really that conservative, only half Latino at most and it's NOT Candleland but a mix of Candleland, Mysterio, Slideling, the Grey Album and some live Bunnymen covers.

I am pretty hot though.

This should actually go into the official FAQ:

Q: Should I get Mysterio?
A: No.

People can only speculate as to what originally motivated the creation of the infamous "Worst Mix CD Ever."

Candleland/Mysterio Expanded Edition

Postby podge » Tue Feb 15, 2011 9:02 pm

I live in the U.S. and can not find the remastered edition of Candleland/Mysterio anywhere; can't download mp3 from the UK. Any suggestions on how I can get a copy would be great. (Can also trade, too)

Thanks,

Podge

Candleland/Mysterio release

Postby podge » Wed Feb 16, 2011 5:15 am

Thanks a lot for the link. Checked it out and believe they are only offering the mp3 version. I checked and can not download mp3s from the UK (checked with Amazon UK, too). If you have any other links/ideas, would be great. Again, thanks for the quick reply.
