Pleasently Surprised......

Got a copy of the "White Lies" CD last week have now given it a few listens, am pleasently surprised how good it is.... It's nought earth shattering but is a good wee listen on the Ipod into work...........

Sometimes you don't have to be great to be great.

Death is a very good tune - Nothing Lasts Forever is meh and Numb is ok.

Only tunes I know. Nice to hear a powerful clear male voice singing in a new band.

A band like this, The Editors and JJ72 make me wish bands would start adding a really good guitar or keyboard player to their ranks. Just for something a little different and a little more developed.

I tell you what,it hasnt been off my car stereo for the last two weeks.Cant wait for the NME gig next week now with Friendly Fires ,White Lies and Glasvegas.My mate is worried we will be surrounded by 16 year old kids but I said dont fret.Glasvegas=Mary Chain v the Ronettes,FF=slowdive v Talking Heads v Mellancamp and White Lies=Cope v Duran Duran.There will be more baldheads there than at a hare krishna convention!

In the States, that is a big thing. Sub-pop has gone from grunge to 80s synth pop.
The Killers new single could have come out in 1983.

The Killers album (Day and Age) - track 4 sounds abit like Modern Romance. Now THATS 1983.
