With the exception of Flight of the Conchords, I've given up on HBO.

No Six Feet Under or Carnivale = no black francis.
Dexter and Californication = yes black francis.

In Treatment (on HBO) wasn't bad, but I'm not sure I'll watch the second season. I'm still not over they way they threw Deadwood to the curb and then John From Cincinnati. Yeah, I actually liked that show. Couldn't be bothered watching True Blood.

Us Brits think HBO is fantastic! (well...apart from Rome, but that was a BBC co-production so its our own fault).

No matter what you think of HBO now they produced The Wire and The Sopranos so have carved an indelible legacy in TV history.

Respect.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

I am going to have to give The Wire a try. I've heard too many people proclaim it to be the pinnacle of television achievement to put it off any longer. I tried two seasons of the Sopranos but it didn't work.

And HBO gave us Mr. Show with Bob and David so I'll always have a soft spot for them. They just fucked up the last season and final episode of Six Feet Under and killing Carnivale off was bad juju.

The Wire is the best TV series ever. No question.
