Then they showed the tape where Palin supported 3 different teams during their pennant races

Did the show the tape where Palin says the VP runs the Senate?

Saw that on Keith Olbermann, actually. The VP runs the Senate "and any other powers the President deems necessary"

No interest in the chestnut Biden let fly about VP powers?

Vice President Cheney has been the most dangerous vice president we’ve had probably in American history. The idea he doesn’t realize that Article I of the Constitution defines the role of the vice president of the United States, that’s the Executive Branch. He works in the Executive Branch. He should understand that. Everyone should understand that.

It's Article II actually.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Which has the power to . . . . break a tie!!! woo hoo!!! The VP doesn't "runs the Senate" and "can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes."
The vice president, as a member of the executive branch of the government, has no official role in developing legislation or determining how it is presented to or debated by the Senate, which is part of the legislative branch. In all meaningful ways, the leader of the majority party runs the Senate.

John McCain said Wednesday that Sarah Palin's posh wardrobe will be donated to charity, after it was disclosed that the Republican National Committee spent about $150,000 on her clothing, hair styling, makeup and other "campaign accessories" in September.

"They will be giving all that back to charity, donating all of that to charity when the campaign is over," the Republican presidential nominee told MyFox Philadelphia Wednesday. "That is the appropriate way to handle it."

From Wikipedia

The formal powers and role of the vice president are limited by the Constitution to becoming President should the President become unable to serve (e.g. due to the death, resignation, or medical impairment of the President) and acting as the presiding officer of the U.S. Senate.

As President of the Senate, the Vice President has two primary duties: to cast a vote in the event of a Senate deadlock and to preside over and certify the official vote count of the U.S. Electoral College.

For much of its existence, the office of Vice President was seen as little more than a minor position. John Adams, the first vice president, described it as "the most insignificant office that ever the invention of man contrived or his imagination conceived."

Richard Nixon reinvented the office of vice president. He had the attention of the media and the Republican party, when Dwight Eisenhower ordered him to preside at Cabinet meetings in his absence. Nixon was also the first vice president to temporarily assume control of the executive branch; he did so after Eisenhower suffered a heart attack on September 24, 1955; ileitis in June 1956; and a stroke in November 1957. President Jimmy Carter was the first president to formally give his vice president, Walter Mondale, an office in the West Wing of the White House.

Presidential campaigns start earlier each cycle, this one started 2 years out, I believe. I think it's crazy.

I think for some reason polls don't work the way they used to anymore. Something different about the demographic, or outdated polling methods, or something. The spread in the polling results is huge and I think unprecedented.

If the election were held today, we would all be caught by surprise.

On the other hand, if the election were held a day after Palin was chosen, all of us complaining about her would had voted for her.
