I thought about making that joke and rejected it. It's okay for you, though.

And as was established in a different thread - Democrat men love women who know how to handle a pole. Republican men love men and boys who know how to handle a pole.

If you dont mind -- that is my wife you are talking about she handles the pole very well - but she is a demon on the Irish.

I am a bit weak at the moment because sometimes at night she wants to practise the shot put and the hamer and grabs the nearest replica ..........

If you had to name a "winner" of 2008, it would have to be China.

Look how well Great Britain has done. Also mad ups to my Australian brothas. Yay Anglosphere! (We'll expect a bit more out of you next time, Canada.)

Yeah dropping batons doesn't help.

"We practiced a few days ago," Gay said afterward. "It was on point; we were really sharp. I don't know what happened tonight."

A few days ago???? Okay we have state sponsored competition again, perhaps it is time to
A. start practicing seriously
B. start choosing your athletes based on ability rather than reputation, past performance and connections.

Competing against a country that size that breeds and raises athletes is going to mean a bit more focus to beat.

I'm sure there's sound reasoning behind it but I've always struggled with the "to keep them from starving to death we have to kill them" argument.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

BEIJING -- The U.S. Embassy urged China today to immediately release foreign activists jailed for holding protests and, in an unusually blunt message, criticized Beijing for failing to show greater tolerance and openness during the Olympics.

Hours later, the Associated Press reported that the 10 foreigners had been released shortly after the Games ended late today, citing British and German diplomats and American activists. Chinese officials refused to comment, and the report could not be immediately confirmed.

Chinese police had sentenced eight Americans, a German and a Briton to 10 days in detention for protesting during the Games.

Most were stopped by police while mounting small-scale protests over Chinese policies on Tibet and human rights.

During the early stages of the 17-day Olympics, China questioned and quickly deported foreign protesters. But in recent days, with most of the 100 or so foreign heads of state who attended the opening ceremony now gone, the regime had taken a harder line, adding lockup time.

I think they said he is the new Mayor of London, as of this past May.
He was quite the mess.
