Oh, that goes without saying. Capes and jumpsuits, required stage attire

I'd love to see them do "A Promise" too.

hmmmm, wonder what the big non-Ocean Rain surprises are?

He mentioned two songs they're trying out and might play at the RAH. The songs are not from the Ocean Rain album, that's what I meant.

It's nothing as totally unexpected like No Dark Things or In Bluer Skies or anything like that, but I am fairly sure that they haven't played the songs in question in 20 years.

That said... I'm not going to tell which songs they are. People might get their hopes up too much - Ian said that they 'might' do them. Also, I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise...

What a tease. Its hardly top secret information likely to make the Russians nuke Georgia is it?What are the songs????

Well, then, okay, it's..

naaah

If I tell, and it turns out they won't play them, I just know that there's going to be disappointment and sadness and people blaming Ian for 'evidently not being able to' or whatever. Then it's going to be Macsupporting overpositive purists like me versus them negativists and before you know it, it'll be nukes all over.

So just take in the happiness about the fact that they certainly are rehearsing songs that haven't been on the setlist in a long time.

Yet it appears that he told you for a reason and that reason was to blab it to the rest of us on this forum (and maybe the other forum too). You relayed to us his cryptic remarks concerning his smoking (like he wanted you to do) so now you should tell us which songs they are hoping to do. It all makes sense.

Hey, that does make sense! Okay, it's...

-wait a minute-

Stop playing with my mind!

(Somehow, today, I get a bit of a kick out of this power position. Ask me again in a couple of months, I'll tell ya.)

If you think they may not play these mystery songs why mention it in the first place?
And you know that I'll pick up
Every time you call
Just to thank you one more time

1. cos I'm a bastard sometimes
2. for reasons already mentioned (the fact that they are rehearsing other songs)
3. because at first it was simply one side-comment in a review written just after having gotten back in the middle of the night from a great gig, still in a state of extasy, wherein I merely mentioned that 'surprises might be coming up' to encourage RAH-enthusiasm (as I was even more eagerly looking forward to RAH than before), and then people started questioning that comment, and I felt I had to elaborate a little

I find thin white's info no less definitive nor trustworthy than the official site's info.
