Tired of discussing the Bunnymen and all the bands that have been influenced by them? This is the place for you.

Thought it started to drag a bit partway through -- maybe Chris Carter could trim it back to 90 minutes (not cutting the shippy moments, of course  ) and it would play better. But overall, I liked it. I might even go see it again once it hits the dollar theater.

I seriously doubt there's gonna be a third film, tho -- there were like six people in the audience when I saw it. Not good, not good.

It felt like it was a story meant to be a single episode, that had to be padded to feature-length. But then, they did have to open and close the two different storylines in a neat little package. Had it been the small screen, the subplot about the kid could've arced over two to three episodes.

There was a small turnout when I went, as well. But then, it was a morning matinee.
I think the movie did prove that there is some interest in these characters. However, I don't think Scully & Mulder are meant for the big screen. It would be cool to see them come back as a series or an occasional miniseries or movie-of-the-week -as a FOX product, FX would be the perfect outlet, where Mulder can be a little edgier than on regular TV. I do believe they say "shit" on FX from time to time.

Exactly -- like a stretched-out episode. I think it'll play much better on the small screen once it's released on DVD. You just can't get that classic claustrophobic X-Files feel on a movie theater-size screen  And wouldn't you know it, when I saw it, everybody was bunched up in one tiny section of the theater. Never fails!

That'd be great if Fox/FX were to produce the occasional X-Files miniseries or MOTW, especially if they could get Vince Gilligan or Darin Morgan to contribute scripts. I wonder if that would be something Fox, Chris Carter, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson would be interested in. I suppose Fox wouldn't if it doesn't at least make back production costs ($30 million, I think I read somewhere).

Glad you guys both liked it. I saw "The Mummy" with my son. He wants to see it a 2nd time! UGH! I think I'd rather watch the X-Files again if given a choice.

I like the original Mummy movie with Boris Karloff from the '30s. Ardath Bey, run amok

That was funny.

It wasn't bad. The theatre was three-quarters full.
