Landmark London record store goes into administration

Tired of discussing the Bunnymen and all the bands that have been influenced by them? This is the place for you.

I miss the Edison wax cylinder talking machine records and that old school artwork with women in provocative yet patriotic poses and the handwritten titles. Back then we used to use the cylinder container for our cocaine. I don't know what the whippersnappers of today use. And those pretentious Sears and Roebuck catalog men! I would send in for Franz Mahl and his New York Military Men and they would telegraph back mocking me and tell me if it were not for the Edison Grand Concert Band they would be nothing! The very nerve!

Nowadays, the kids are only interested in hanging out at the drugstore drinking phosphates, and reading the latest serialized Fitzgerald novel in Colliers.

Yeah a player piano could not make bathtub gin worth squat! Only piano players could do that! I wonder what ne'erdowell's of these modern times do?... Now where were we? Oh yeah—the important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn’t have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...
