Hope they don't ever pretend they're wearing capes like Peter Murphy does during "Bela Lugosi's Dead".

I think we should all where capes to the shows and show our cape solidarity.

I agree Chris Martin isn't wearing women's blouses open to the waist like Robert Plant did but I SWEAR there's been photos of him in the newspapers flailing his arms around with that little Sgt. Pepper jacket on and nothing under it. Someone help confirm this please?

Let's see flailing arms, Sgt Pepper Jacket, no shirt...why that's an uncanny description of Mr. Plant!...or maybe it's Adam Ant you are thinking of? Ant...Plant, I can see the confusion

Sorry, they were in the same decade as the Bunnymen. One, early 70's, the other, late 70's. I actually remember listening to them at the same time.

But Ant and Plant started off shirtless. They both always acted all sexy. I guess it was another one of Eno's hypnotic suggestions. Maybe Chris actually thinks he's wearing one.

Mac might as well wear a cape. He covers himself up so much with trenchcoats, hoodies and jackets. Wasn't the trenchcoat to cover up the fact that he didn't like the way he looked when he walked? Think of how much more a cape could hide?

Ok, if you're a Brit I might be able to see obsessing over Martin - but when is the last time an American has heard from the band? It has been months. Who cares.

They've been in 2 LA newspapers (since they recently played here in a GIGANTIC arena) and USA Today. There are also Coldplay billboards around Hollywood.

I am not obsessing over them because I didn't attend their concert and don't care about their new OR old shit they churn out with or without Eno's help.
I was just stating that I wouldn't want to see Mac and Will go shirtless now after all these years since it seems out of character for both them and Chris.

Sorry, I will continue to obsess about Mac and the Bunnymen instead. A band I haven't heard from in years, not months.

That's what we do around here. It's called the Salinger Syndrome. Some call it the Syd Barret Psychosis. While others call it the Fat Elvis Effect.

It is a matter of alliteration, really.

You can ban people who stray off-topic you know--or who make insufficient reference to capes in general. (Me, I talk about capes all the time. It's always "capes this" and "capes that" and "Boy, I sure do like capes." Ask anyone.)

It's true. Whenever Jack comes over - he goes into the bathroom and comes running out with a large towel wrapped around at the short end shouting, "It's a cape! See it flow?!?!? It's a cape!!!!"
