Any thoughts on capes? Are you pro-cape or anti-cape?

I'm down for a big inflatable penis on stage but that probably doesn't come as a shock to anybody.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

That brings it safely back to an earlier thread when it was revealed that the new album was being produced by the boy band producer bloke. I recall it was dismissed by a few, but perhaps now it might be worth seriously considering.....

"I look forward to Mac and Will doing funky coreagraphed dance moves in the forthcoming video to "Think I Needed Two" as the Bunnymen reinvent themselves as an ageing boy band. Future concerts will be magical affairs, featuring screaming teenage girls accompanied by their queenie male friends and their mums as Mac, suited in a glamourous silver overcoat and diamond encrusted shades [and cape!], belts out "The Cutter" to remind people of past glories. Specially stage-managed pyrotechnic special effects will signify the return to tracks off the new album and later for the encore, the lights will dim as Mac sings an acapella set of Bunnymen ballads with the band seated on leather stools close to the audience. Fearne Cotton will feature as the night's host, "bigging it up for the Bunnymen". "

Everything you're saying sounds better than the new Chris Martin look which reminds me of the old Robert Plant look which I never thought was sexy. The "no shirt under an open jacket or open shirt to the waist" look.
I really wouldn't want to see Mac like that  OR Will

Also, what you're describing sounds a lot like Roxy in the old days. Remember?

Boy that was a real stretch to slam Coldplay. It is not required to mention the dislike of Coldplay in every thread ya know. I don't think Chris Martin has ever attempted to look like this which it sounds like you are trying to do.

Please provide evidence that Chris Martin is attempting this look because if he is I will join you then in mocking Mr. Martin.

OK, Mr. Brian. I agree Chris Martin isn't wearing women's blouses open to the waist like Robert Plant did but I SWEAR there's been photos of him in the newspapers flailing his arms around with that little Sgt. Pepper jacket on and nothing under it. Someone help confirm this please?

A giant Bunnygod should come out like "eddie" from Iron Maiden and menace the audience into raucous behavior and fist pumping as Mac rides a Vespa out waving a bullwhip and a can of hairspray.

Yeah, it should also have spotlights for eyes and float over the audience like at a Floyd gig, a giant robot should then grab hold of Mac and lift him into the rafters while Will frantically hammers away on his guitar in a pyramid of lasers.

i'm with Jack - that would actually be pretty good... and yes, i am pro-cape. i think Mac's long trench coat is kinda like a cape anyway. he just needs to glam it up a bit. and maybe learn some dance moves like david coverdale

He wore a cape during the 2001 tour. I thought he had resurrected it for the recent Brazilian shows but he was back to the trenchcoat for the recent festivals.

I must say the cape was truly cool.

We have evidence that Moondance was trying to look like that. Don't we Mary?

Maybe they can go on Dragon's Den http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7512591.stm

Wearing a cape for the presentation may help clinch the deal.
