I must be missing something here. Looks and sounds pretty much like the usual The Killing Moon performance that the band have been doing for years.

Yep, you are missing a couple of big differences, they seem to be playing it like they give a shit again....see this from a year of two ago..

Nope still don't see it. Maybe louder, but then the first vid is from a concert, while the second is a TV show where the sound/acoustics will be quieter.

I think Mac's voice is much better in the recent live festival show than in the TV clip from a year or so ago. It's not all croaky and hoarse.

He sounds better. Was he actually drinking water and not beer? And not smoking on stage?
Good for him, if so.

And his voice sounds better on Dancing Horses - the long delay would accent rather than hide missed notes. Throat is hoarse by the end. No pun intended.

He definitely has lost his upper end. The chorus of Killing Moon - I dunno - just a bit coaching from someone that knows what they are doing . . . .

The verses sound fantastic.

I know it sounds pretty specific, but I'd love to hear him sound as good as he could.

Heh, it's exactly the kind of title I would use. My last Amazon movie review was entitled "The Crappening."

I swear I read somewhere that he'd given up cigarettes because he didn't want to have to stand outside the bar to have a smoke. Whatever the reason, his voice does sound better.

I recall that too but for some reason I think it was a Wikipedia thing so that makes it dubious
