The Royal Court is sadly no longer a music venue it is indeed a comedy club. It's very sad, I attended my loudest ever gig there in 1980, my ears were ringing for days.
And you know that I'll pick up

I remember always getting just near the front whenever I saw them there (I was young and could handle it then). The sound and atmosphere was amazing....come to think of it most of the other gigs I saw there didn't dissapoint.

Plus it was 1983 and there wasn't any band that could come anywhere near them at that time.....

Was there a restraining order?

The venues of those days were so much more atmospheric. I think Health and Safety has changed things and probably the Bunnymen were more energetic then!!! But some of those old venues were awesome - The Locarno and Apollo in Glasgow, the Playhouse in Edinburgh etc!!

Certainly beats going to see them in the large box that is called the Carling Academy.

That Q interview really stitched me up ,some of it was spot on ,but most of it made me out to be a right twat!! But i still remember you guys and that tape! You asked Mac if he wanted to hear it and he said "I m ok man ,me ears are still ringing!"
My memory is pretty good with that gig as i was 14 years old and stone cold sober!!!As for the gig............!

Hi there,
i didn't want to steal anybodies thunder with my first post so apologies in advance. I think i might be the person that Crimson Nights might be talking about. I taped the Portree gig on my 'Ghetto Blaster' ( a hand painted job with tiger skin speaker covers!! LOL) and went back stage with my mate after the gig. I managed to get Ian & Will to sign the tape which i still have (see bellow).
PS I still live in EK.
PPS could you post the Q interview.
