Celebs/ artist guilty pleasures

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

"The Rick Springfield Incident" would be a most excellent band name. Not as good as my "Mexico Dynamite Truck Explosion", but still good, nonetheless.

I don't wear many anymore.
I have a Bunnymen shirt from the 97 tour and the red star one from the Flowers tour. I don't wear either very often. I also have a Ramones t-shirt and a woxy.com shirt with about 100 bands listed on the back.

In the 1990's through my 20's and 30's my wardrobe consisted of a lot of American indie rock bands like Jesus Lizard, All, Poster Children, Pegboy, Dinosaur Jr., Pavement and bands like that.

But none could top the Jake Brockman Experience.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

46 but still got the x factor.

Shit. The X Factor is one of those things if I have to ask then I obviously don't have it.

Always thought I did but apparently not.

I would buy a Villiersterrace.com t-shirt, if it had the banner art just like it is on the website. That would be a good shirt.

What was that stunt the Alarm pulled some years ago that involved writing a really catchy song under a fake artist's name pretending to be a new, YOUNG band so no one knew it was them until they decided to let out their secret?

I think they didn't fess up till after it was rising in the charts

They opened for the Fixx and the Furs last year in Costa Mesa -- played an hour and didn't do "The Stand"

From Wikipedia:

After a short and unremarkable solo career in the 1990s, against the wishes of the original members of the band Peters chose began using the name Alarm once more. The line-up of the New band included Craig Adams (ex The Sisters of Mercy, The Mission, The Cult), James Stevenson (Chelsea, Gene Loves Jezebel, The Cult) and Steve Grantley of Stiff Little Fingers, and released the In the Poppy Fields CD in 2004. The lead single reached the Top 40, on indie Snapper Music after the band credited the track to The Poppyfields and got a younger band to front the single in their video. However the second single, credited to The Alarm, charted a few places lower than the Top 40.

that begs the question -- should they really be calling themselves The Alarm if Mike Peters is the only original band member left in the band? Isn't there a law somewhere that says there have to be at least two left, and one better be the singer? And what happens when there are dueling versions of the band touring? The Beat/The English Beat come to mind.

In that case, I think Dave Wakeling keeps to North America & Europe, whereas, Ranking Roger sticks to the UK.
Roger's got a better claim to the name, as I think he's got two original members.
