He had a lot of clever lyrics on Siberia, I thought.
"He was a mongoose, rather like a little cat in his fur and his tail, but quite like a weasel in his head and his habits."

agreed. I think Siberia's better

If you can't be arsed reading that, I quote...

"Consistent, lush, dramatic, imbued with the old, dark, dramatic Bunnymen spirit, tons of weird, snappy guitars, great powerful drumming, loads of references to past records (and I am sure that this is a deliberate ploy), and fab, yearning, older 'n wiser lyrics.

Parthenon Drive is the first track where you really get a feeling that this album is a statement of intent by the band; there are obvious references to earlier songs, (Dancing Horses, an Over the Wall-esque bass line, the tail out drum machine pattern sounds like that on Fuel). The song's theme also revisits old territory. In a way, Parthenon Drive is a kind of a continuation to all the family observations posed on Crocodiles' Pride. "

Nah, I just recognize quality.

Look at these lyrics from The Game:

A sense of duty was my one intention
And an ugly beauty was my own invention
Pride, a proud refusal
And I refuse to need your approval
Too many seekers, too few beacons
But through the fog we'll keep on beaming
Through the crying hours of your glitter years
All the living out of your tinsel tears
And the midnight trains I never made
'Cos I'd already played the game
