Sigur Ros announce NYC show!

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

It's not as simplistic as that. The exchange rate is not the only thing to take into consideration eg. http://www.usa-vs-uk.com/everydaygoods.html I know the rate has improved since this was done in 2005, and it doesn't look like a very rigourous comparison, but even taking current rates into consideration many goods are still more expensive to buy on your side of the puddle than this one.

Good luck with getting your tickets.

Red,

Did you get an e-mail from their fan site today?

From it:

If you're not already aware we've just launched Dót. Over the coming weeks there'll be a lot of to tell you about & Dót will allow you to get video & audio updates directly. You can embed Dót on your own blog or site, or visit at www.sigurros.com. We've just added some fly on the wall footage filmed at Sterling Sound studios in New York.

We've also annouced the Grand Prize Winner for the Minn video promotion. Congratualtions to Mark Dewitt for his winning entry which you can see here

Finally please keep visiting sigurros.com - we've a relaunch coming very shortly, and a big feature will regular postings from the band.

I'm still working on getting tickets... Again, I wish you luck as I hope you wish me luck too. Cheers.

You obviously haven't stayed at the PanAm in Queens, then.

Queens? Was nothing available in Staten Island or Nassau County?

i dunno....i go to the UK about 1 - 2 times a year....and i can barely eat over there, and i can't even remember the last thing i bought that wasn't a key chain! (if i didn't have friends to stay with, i wouldn't be able to go!)

and i gotta laff at those comparisons, because i don't even pay those prices for things today, never mind 3 years back! i know how to be thrifty, but it's still WAY better for someone in the UK to come here, than it is for us to go there. i have friends there coming here every so often and they always say how they are so amazed at how cheap things are, even when they're in the big cities.

No review for Omaha show.

We didn't get there because of weather. Delayed leaving at 5pm because of 35-45mph gusting winds -not fun to drive Prius through that. So waited for husband to get back with his car--about 5:30pm. By then already getting bad here in Lincoln so decided to wait to see if it would clear up. Show didn't start until 8pm and it's only an hour to get there from here so we had plenty of time.

Ultimately, I'm glad we did wait because we would have been driving through a storm cell that had 5 funnels and anywhere from 2-8 inches of rain & flash flooding. It was the northern leading edge of this storm that had the tornado that hit the Boyscout Camp.

So now we all have to wait for Jimbo's review of NYC show.

Quick review................

Sigur Ros were fabtastic I have to say, as for set list the did not play much from the new cd it was mainly from Takk.... Here's the setlist anyway...

01. Svefn-g-englar
02. Glósóli
03. Sé lest
04. Ny Batterí
05. Við spilum endalaust
06. Hoppipola/með blóðnasir
07. Heysatan
08. Viðrar vel til loftárása
09. Sæglópur
10. Olsen Olsen
11. Inní mér syngur vitleysingur
12. Hafsól
13. Gobbledigook
14. Popplagið

Thats a bummer Red about dates, looks like an interesting tour as they are gonna be playing as a 4 peice on the tour.......

Also have to say REM were great at MSG on the 19th as where The Cure last night, one off the highlights so fae was Johnny Marr joining REM to play "Fall On Me" and "Man On The Moon" and some New Yorker asking me why the support bands guitarist wason stage with them...

Ok better get ready and head out as today is my Birthday and am off to see The Cure again tonight at Radio City !!!!!

Ta Ta
