Thanks. Seems as though the maximum avatar size allowed gets smaller every time I change.

i wouldn't even care if there WERE any on here....i'd like to know how HALF of them even get a JOB, nevermind those jobs. that's the reason this letter was written in the first place. incompetent morons in most offices these days! if they'd give jobs to the sort of people that write these types of letters, the world would be a hell of a lot better off.

Having just applied for my very first passport in order to visit British Columbia later this year for business I have to say that I think that letter is so full of shit on so many levels I'm not even sure where to begin. But I'll try...

I don't think it is a real letter. Sometimes it's attributed to a Canadian on the internet and here it seems to be American.

The logic is all flawed. It's not like the government has a file on every citizen that they just pull up. That actually seems to be the very thing the author would be against. Does the government have a file on your genealogy going back to 1776? If they did the author would be mad about that too.

You can get your own picture taken and submit it. The passport office doesn't have to take it. I didn't and I regret it. I look like I have jaundice. Oh well.

Should it be easy to get a copy of your birth certificate? I don't think so. With that is the key to your identity. Do you want your identity that easy to be stolen? I happen to keep my certified birth certificate in my safe deposit box because I've know for over 20 years that it takes a while to get a certified copy. Ever here of those?

Do the author actually have proof that their doctor who looks and sounds Chinese is actually born and raised in communist China? Did you run a check on him? probably not. Maybe he was US born. Maybe he was born in Taiwan. Maybe his family escaped communist China to make a better life here. It implies that somehow because of the authors race they are more of an American than the Asian looking physician. That remark just smacks of a xenophobic right wing thought process that you have to be white and have ancestors that came here a long time ago to be a real American.

OK I'm done.

It was funny anyway and I'm sure it expressed a lot of our sentiments in dealing with "incompetent morons" who hold govt. jobs. Mine, anyway
What's worse than them being incompetent morons is their own self importance.

Our house alarm went off recently at 5:30 am and the alarm co. called to see if we were OK. We took a quick look around and noticed the bathroom window screen had been slashed. That was the window sensor that had gone off according to the keypad. We have A LOT of robberies at all times of the day here.
The police arrived 3 hrs. later, handed me a fine I had to pay for a false alarm stating that robberies don't happen at 5:30 am and left!(even after telling them the screen was cut which they never bothered to look at)
I had all my neighbors (3/4 of who have been robbed at all different times, day and night) sign a letter saying our neighborhood was not safe. I refused to pay the fine. They doubled it! I relented and paid it but told them NEVER to come again, that the alarm co. had their own armed men.

Second, EVERY year, I, along with my son's doctors have to prove to social security that my son is STILL autistic. The doctors can't believe the ignorance and stupidity.

I'm starting to think there's a method to their madness. They are actually very smart and pretend to be incompetent morons on purpose because if they owe you $ ( like social security) they make it extremely difficult and if you owe THEM $ they make it extremely difficult!

That's right! Feel sorry for me!

Am I the only one who's had dealings with real life Patty and Selmas? I thought we could have started a whole thread here (not only about U.S. govt. employees) but anyone's experiences, anywhere. I'm sure they're all self-important incompetent morons.

Here is one of my bitches (this seems like a pretty good place to do that):

Why is it the damn insurance co. always sends me a questionair asking if I still am under their policy?? Oh, and "for how long?" "Was this an accident?" "Are you covered by a secondary insurance?" Blah, blah, blah...

I get these after I have been to the doctor and the doc office sends in the claim! If I gave them the insurance card to submit the claim, wouldn't that mean I am still under that policy?

We also have to submit our receipts of our over-the-counter meds. And its a random request from the insurance co.

I hate "red tape".

That's exactly what I'm saying! They do it on purpose ( the paperwork going back and forth like a f*cking ping-pong game) because they don't want to dole out any money or they want to delay the process of doling as long as possible even though I'm sure, you've been paying into the policy with YOUR money for years .
Didn't the Paperwork Reduction Act get passed? What good did that do?
