"Echo & The Bunnymen have decided to suspend the forum until further notice. The decision to suspend the forum was made by the band and management due to the fact a few fans decided to take it upon them self\'s to direct insults to fellow forum members, Echo & The Bunnymen band members & staff. This is not acceptable, in our eyes this is bullying. The Bunnymen.com forum is a place to chat about Echo & The Bunnymen and other issues, it is not a place to make personal comments or accusations to other forum members. Post will be removed due to inappropriate content as the forum should be a place for people of all ages to view and enjoy. The forum will return soon, if you wish to be informed when this will happen please sign upto the Echo & The Bunnymen newsletter on the Bunnymen.com homepage. Thank you Echo & The Bunnymen."

I'm trying to remember the insults directed at fellow forum members. What were they?

Also "them self's" is a classic. A) It's one word and B) it's spelled themselves, and C) as usual, no apostrophe needed.

Also, what were the "accusations?"

Then it says "post [sic] will be removed". Haven't they already been removed? How long does it take to delete a post?

It does also say the forum will return soon. Hurray, I guess.

I can understand where they're coming from. After all it would ruin the band's reputation for anyone associated with them to be throwing personal comments and insults about. :roll:

I'm inclined to tell them to shove their new forum somewhere dark and moist! It would be great if we all boycotted it and stayed here, not that I'm narked or anything eh! :P

i appreciate that they are telling us the forum's removal was/is temporary, but i don't think that whole long explanantion needs to be put on a page like that...

it should have been emailed (newsletter style) to the members who were on it, so we all know "oh ok, i wasn't banned, it's down for everyone" but the reasons behind it are still vague and unexplained to most people (even some of us who actively posted on the forum)... so it would have been nice if they told us what the problem actually was... so we didn't do it again. :?

i really like peter and i think he's a great guy, but i think taking the whole forum down was a bit drastic. but then again, i guess it's easy to ciriticize when i am not the one responsible for it. i hope it comes back, and whoever was the asshat that pissed peter off owes him an aopology 8)

I agree with the above, shove it, it was pretty shite anyway with it's second hand news. And why no newsletter? Or are they just reserved for events that are non-Bunnymen and no one is interested in?

A new forum would, of course, mean re-registering again... and possibly with yet another email address. :evil:

The last time round, I wasn't allowed to include an apostrophe in my nickname... oh, the irony of it all!

I really don't know what happened but maybe they just can't handle a forum.
It's sickening to have to re-register and lose all of the posts and information over and over.

i'm not 100% sure, this is just a guess, but do we really know all the threads will be gone and we'll have to re-register? all he did was lock the forum, when it re-opens, won't he just make the link accessible again?
