Why is Mac obsessed with ballads, he hasn't got the voice to do them justice anymore but besides that (with very few exceptions) they always end up sounding shite anyway.

Wonder how many "haunting lullabies" there will be on Coldplay's new album. I still can't get over the title being inspired by an old painting of a load of melons.

It has to be a Slideling leftover. I can't imagine any more collaborating after Mac talked shit about Live 8 (best shit talking he's done since the 80's) and then Martin talked shit about anyone talking shit about Live 8.

At least I hope there are no further collaborations between those two. Mac's recent songs have been sissy enough.

Yeah - the fans have been inquiring for so long about details on the new album and it was treated like such a secret! There is a link to this article on the main page, but I find it odd that the news of the album name and producer wasn't news in itself prior to this article being printed.

Smells like another WAYGDWYL -- a solo Ian album. The producer is a close friend, we get Chris Martin inspired Slideling left-overs, and Will has been oh-so-silent on the whole production. Stinks to high heaven of another croony record (complete with Ian's reference to haunting lullabyes).

The usual 80's PR line is still in effect, "greatest thing ever" and "Obviously I have loads of love for the older stuff but this one sounds almost like a debut album with a lot of hard rock. I hate using the word rock, it's not right for us. It's more vibrant and hardish." -- includes the standard line about how rocking the album is. No offense, but are they really all that rocking after HUH?

I hope I am wrong and that I am unsurped by a a shit-kicker of a record, but with a title like "The Fountain" -- I seriously question the rock...

What does Will have to say about all this?
