The Fountain

Well according to Mac's Interview in the Sunday Mail the new album will be called "The Fountain" and has been peoduced by Scottish Songwriter John McLaughlin, who has previously worked with Busted, 911, Mark Owen etc ...... A very bold and brave choice if you ask me .....

First single is out on the 14th July .....

I like that title. I am also encouraged by the choice of producer.

A touch of inevitability in that statement.

Notice that the first single is "Think I Needed Two". I hope that's not what was previously "I think I needed it Too" (ie. that "Whatever you want, what ever you neeeed"), which would be a extremely poor choice for first release single. Good title for the album though. And a Chris Martin collaboration -- that may get mixed views.

Pity though that all that info had to be revealed in a tabloid. It should have come from the official website.

Why does half of the interview consist of Chris Martin yap? Do they really need to invoke the name of the "almighty" Chris Martin in order to sell records?

On a more positive note (but not really), we get more info from that pr piece than we've gotten from the official website. Name, producer, name of first single, release date of first single. Cheers to The Sunday Mail.

Yeah it does seem odd for that "I know Chris Martin" dribble, other than a sign of desperation. Getting Chris Martin and Johnny Buckland to collaborate on Slideling didn't exactly make that a best selling album. Nothing against Chris Martin's involvement in the track, if there has to be collaboration (why bring in other writers -- this is a Bunnymen album) but the name dropping is getting a bit tiresome now and sounds as naff as this is the best album since Ocean Rain bollocks.

We're entitled to whine that's why we come on here. The other site is for praising everything and anything.

Take that clothes peg off your nose when you're singing.

"Chris knows how to write those great, haunting lullaby ballads."

Why is Mac obsessed with ballads, he hasn't got the voice to do them justice anymore but besides that (with very few exceptions) they always end up sounding shite anyway.
