I downloaded some songs and was listening to them in the car and my youngest daughter asked if they were singing in Spanish

For some reason no one is mentioning THE RECENT THREAD discussing this band. (Unless I missed it...)

Interesting that the lead singer James Allan maintains his thick Glaswegian accent while singing. Kind of like the Proclaimers meets Jesus & The Mary Chain, but about trillions times better [than the Proclaimers]. Excellent band though and a good choice for support. I take it that Glasvegas won't stretch to the UK shows though.

i don't think there should be a support band for the RAH gig. some things are perfect on their own.

heh. This opening act has renewed my interest in going and seeing the Bunnymen. I feel good about taking the chance on Mac's voice and demeanor knowing that a hungry young band that sounds like the Jesus and MAry Chain is opening . . . . .

I feel totally positive that Mac will be great! Because even if he isn't - I am sure Glasvegas will be from what I have seen.

What a voice! What lyrics!

how you are my hero
how your never here though
remember times when you put me on your shoulders
how i wish it was forever you would hold us
right now im too young to know
how in the future it will affect me when you go
you could have had it all
you, me, and mum y`know
anything was possible

i wont be the lonley one
sitting on my own and sad
a fifty year old
reminiscing what i had

i wont be the lonley one
sitting on my own and sad
forget your dad, he's gone

all i wanted was a kick-a-bout in the park
for you to race me home when it was nearly getting dark
how i could've been yours, and you be mine
it could've been me and you until the end of time
do what you want, when you want
be as fuckin' insincere as you can
what kind of way is that to treat your wife
to see your son on saturdays
what way is that to live your life?

i wont be the lonley one
sitting on my own and sad
a fifty year old
reminiscing what i had

i wont be the lonley one
sitting on my own and sad
forget your dad, he's gone

I agree.I don't see the reason why they want a support band, better an introduction like Mendelssohn in the old, glorious, fantastic RAH....I think.

hey now uncle hip, behave! (if that's possible!)

i agree......i think something like that would be really cool! i'm all for the glasvegas thing in NYC, but i would prefer no support band, or something really bizarre, for RAH.

Hopefuly not (I'm going to the Albert Hall show), I don't like what I hear! I don't get those Mary Chain comparisons, really...

It's the musical equivalent of "it tastes like chicken."

yeah, they don't sound exactly like them....but i can hear similar traits in some of the chords. and not in every song either. but if something reminds me of a band, then i guess you can compare them to that band.
