fair point, and i suppose in interviews he's not going to say he just made em up that morning over and above the 'its all real man' thing he's got going on.

bunnygirlxx, it's medication time.

So very sad and childish!

Really do think people should be able to read and quote correctly though before posting. Making their minds up may be asking a little too much!!

Been listening to the album and while I still really like "Lovers On the Run" I feel like this album is another near miss like Siberia. There's beauty and something worthwhile on pretty much every song but then it's followed by a boring chorus which basically repeats the song title over and over again or ventures into adult contemporary schmaltz. That said it is deserving of more listens and hopefully I'll find more to like about it.

OK I found the full set on You Tube after hearing the songs in full through laptop speakers I made the decision to get the vinyl from Amazon, a few pence cheaper than the CD

Looking forward to it arriving along with Hardback Book Edition of HUH at the end of the month.

Mac's lyrics have been a bit shite since the grey album really and on the new album it's sometimes hard to tell what he's singing anyway so it's not a deal breaker for me.

Joe-eatb, it was just my opinion.
If you think yours is better, then everythings OK. Dont give a shit, really

But it is our right to moan and express ourselves.
Sorry, but I do think they can write great stuff even so many years after the 4 albums.
For example, I've said in my post that 2 songs are very good on the album. I'm not a moaner. We have the right to be disappointed. You have the right to like Holy Moses even if I think it's absolute shit.

Thanks inbluerskies and fatcherry

Actually I agree with you, I do not like Holy Moses at all and I also think Lovers On the Run is not great either. But the rest of the new album I like very much. You have every right to your opinion, but if everything they put out is shit and you go to the show and say they were shit, why do you bother with them at all. There are bands I used to like but they just don’t do it for me anymore, but I do not go to there websites and tell all there fans that they are shit, I just don’t follow them any more. No hard feelings . . .

I agree with you Joe! Why shell out loads of cash if it only makes you bitter and twisted? Go and find a new band that puts a smile on your face!! I worshipped Bowie as a kid but hated his late 80's and Tin Machine stuff, would never slag him off though! By all means have an opinion and understand people being fed up about shows being put off but why bother if it gets you down. Won't happen though.........

Some of the comments have been totally unfair and please tell me how you can write your opinion of a gig, then change your mind about it a few days later??? If that's not jumping on the bandwagon, I don't know what is!!

Froggy, am with you on the songs. It's like The Fountain revisited for me and pretty much the same as how you mentioned it. Was surprised that they could pull them off ok live. I was counting the seconds until Constantinople was over. Dreadful.

I had not seen the band for a year and a half, got the one decent show a week or so ago and was pretty excited at first. I wrote my review with a bit of excitement however it was not their best gig ever. Maybe 'flawless' but flawless means no Mac breakdowns, no shouting at fans and the whole show went on as planned.
The hope and determination of the bunnygirlxx comments are cute but they're a bit over exaggerated.

VB, I thought they said the download comes with the album from Pledge but it's not over yet. Could that be why you haven't gotten it? Not buying any of it. Still not right that people who buy on amazon can get it earlier than the pledgers who signed up months ago...

Over exaggerated in your opinion! But that seems to be the only one that matters?! Either that or you haven't read the Leamington or Antwerp threads, because according to those you didn't get the 'only good show'!!!

Whatever.........

So what you are arguing if a person doesn't like the current (or previous) output of the lead singer then they should shut up and/or bugger off, even if they are really fond of some of the band's back catalogue, the odd track here and there or album since, as well as separate stuff done by one or two of the current/former band members? I would also get the point about not bothering going to their gigs if the performance was weighted completely towards the stuff that they didn't like too. Might be the case with the current tour, but certainly not before!

I really didn't mean that at all and if that's the impression I gave, my mistake! Just seems to me that a minority will constantly complain, no matter what. If the Paris gig didn't leave you happy and glad you went, frankly not much will!!

I don't define pragmatism as tellinng your fellow VT members you're allowed your opinions just don't post them here. I don't begrudge anyone who loves the Bunnymen's latter day output as they shouldn't begrudge someone's negative opinion. They're both just as valid.
