Maybe, the band will add some of the footage as a 'sweetener'
to the Fountain cd. That way, they don't have to duplicate any
distribution efforts, and it will be like having the past/present/
future with the Greatest Album and 2nd Greatest Album together.

Dead tired but it was so worth it! Fabulous show and Mac's voice was the best I've ever heard. I can't even come up with the words to describe the Ocean Rain set. I'm so glad to have been there for an amazing event in bunnymen history.

I thought Glasvegas stunk. And did every one of their songs include the "f word" (multiple times) in the lyrics?

As for the main event -- just fabulous. The voice, Will's guitar work, the orchestra, the arrangements. The hard work creating and setting this up and rehearsing for it has really payed off. My only complaint --it was just too short.

I beseech the band (Mac and Will) to release each of these three shows either on a proper cd or via downloads. We know you record every show (the audio) and we want copies. It would be a great keepsake to a great show and mostly everyone would buy all three shows even if they only went to one.

And yes, a video(s) would be great too.

Capice?

It was great meeting everyone at the Pig and being able to put a face to a name, even though I've forgotten most of everyone's real names (but I remember their screen names).

We are an eclectic group. But a good group too and it's a privilege to share the passion of the Bunnymen with each of you. And now i must retire for the evening. I've become maudlin.

I didn't care for Glas Vegas at all. It was all feedback and expletives. Any high school band would have done better on that stage with that sound system.

Hi!

By the grace of God, we made it on time.

Pete didn't really "care for" Glasvegas but, being the strange woman I am, was very excited by them! I thought they were great. I'm going to try to get their CD or download a couple of songs to my phone/Ipod. I really liked their first song (unsure of the title) & Geraldine...no, I'm not jumping on the band-wagon b/c Ian likes them but, I just gave them a shot for my own opinion. I really like their style...

This show was so fantastic, happy & less "stiff" comparatively against RAH's gig. I wish I could express in words how somewhat different these 2 shows were.

RAH's gig was more "formalized" in the sense that everyone seemed tense.

It was terrific to see Ian so happy & upbeat. I hope all is going well for him. His voice was so strong & wild! I loved how he interacted w/ the audience a bit too, I hope he does this in Liverpool, I'm so stoked to be going to that too. When he is so happy like this, even his singing is even more terrific. That raincoat is such a trademark!

Will looked fantastic as he did w/ his stylish clothes! He dressed in 2 suits at RAH & people around us commented the same thing. I appreciated his guitar style even more especially during certain songs. He has TRUE talent! I also would like to comment that I appreciate more now even that I've seen his style in different venues, his musicianship is great as I never really appreciated it before now, I realize how great he is.

I got to meet Mr. Brian & Epsilon, which was cool to talk w/ them. It was great to put a name to a face & I apologized even to Mr. Brian for my insane posts!! LOL

We drove to the Beauty Bar but, due to an unforseen phone call which was work related, we had to immediately depart, which SUCKED but, when you work for where we work, that's how life happens & we had to be professional/boring/responsible about it. I hope everyone had a great time, as I'm sure you all did. Likewise, I'm glad I took the challenge of going but, work happens...

I have to say that in comparison between these 2 gigs, I will admit that, this was more "lively" & "fun" than RAH but, that's strictly my opinion & who am I? Likewise, I'm really anticipating flying back to Liverpool, visiting the city again & of course, celebrating w/ the band for the month of their 30th anniversary in their hometown. This time though, if there's a meet-up there, we CAN go b/c we have the time off & won't get calls in another country (which is nice)!

I will lastly state that, I would've liked to have met some of you whom I've talked w/ kindly on this site but, it was unfortunate it happened this way. I hope that all of you had safe travels & a great time that night, we did! :)

Great show and great to meet everyone! The show exceeded all my expectations except the shorter 1st set. Mac's voice was the best in years and the mix between band and orchestra was perfect. I am so glad I went despite the money hemorrhaging from my wallet over those few short days.

I too was a little worried about the sound at first listening to Glasvegas, but I kept reminding myself that they are an opening band and that's usually what happens with opening bands. I thinks it's a combination of them not being mature in their presence and the fact that the venue is half empty still which changes the acoustics.

Surely this will turn up on dimeadozen.

This sentiment (from the blog) surprises me: "But the devolution of the already weak “Nothing Lasts Forever” into a medley of cover version snippets bordered on ‘washed up Vegas performance’ and was certainly the low point of the evening."

I thought the Nothing Lasts Forever segment was simply beautiful, especially the part when he does the Don't Let Me Down portion. To me it's the subtleties that make the show. I guess that's lost on some people.

But thanks for the link. I'm downloading now.

Oh, one negative point amid the whole glorious affair: I find "I Think I Need it Too" to be an extraordinarily un-interesting song. I can't imagine what Mac sees in it, or what he thinks we will see in it, but it just seems so very, very generic. Maybe in ten years I will understand how awesome it is.

I've had some time to think about the last few days and my initial impressions still remain. The Ocean Rain set was definitely the best Bunnymen live show I've ever seen. I never got to check them out live in the 80's but have seen them quite a few times since 1997. I still can't believe Mac is nailing Ocean Rain like it's no problem. Of course the Killing Moon was the highlight for me and the whole three days was such a positive experience, the previously cancelled Bunnymen tattoo is now back on again. Tuesday night was so much fun, I mean free drinks, cool people, Bunnymen tunes AND go-go dancers? I never wanted to leave.

Thank you to everyone I met and hung out with this week. Everyone was so nice and I felt really happy hanging out with all of you. Well all of you except Jack "Can you guys cover this I lost my wallet again" T, witha "knocked the Marriott rating down a star" hip and Mr. "Pull my finger" Brian. You three sicken me.
