History chimes demo....Marr on guitar ?

General discussion about the band, live shows, its recordings or bootlegs, etc. You can buy, sell or trade here. You can even post eBay links. If it's about the Bunnymen, it goes here.

More info.... it seems the album was possibly recorded at Chapel Studios

I'm basing this on their clients list and the fact that it has been mentioned that it was recorded "in Lincolnshire".

like 'me and david bowie for instance? lols. Anyway you cant say that S4T will have a dickie fit. Thing is, I think the marr associated tunes, well lowdown anyway, on the electrafixion album are probably the best, though the zephyr single/ep/whatever, is better than the album i reckon. hmmm, got the urge to put that on now. The quote from mac in chris adams' book always makes me laugh, when mac says 'what happened to you lot' and marr says, we turned into a bunch of cunts, and mac thinks, hmm, sounds familiar. or something. Probably loses something inthe transaltion i expect.

saturdays eh? where do they go?

Perhaps they were burnt on the Isle of Jura when The KLF destroyed their master tapes after leaving the music business, ha ha. Shortly before they did, Drummond said he wanted to sign Mac who was apparently without a deal at the time.

On the other hand, there was a story that Mac played the tapes for Rob Dickins(?) at WEA who wasn't impressed with the finished album and thought the demo version of the album was better. So there's two versions of the album, and surely the tapes in the "courier van" weren't the only copies.

Also, what's this thing about The Sun having a track you could listen to over the phone?

Moreover... Wiki articles now say the album had a working title of "Touch Down" (Touchdown was the original title of Too Far Gone, rembember), and there's this:

"25 Aug 1993
THERE'S A BUNNY THING Stuart Clark
IAN McCULLOCH is currently putting the finishing touches to a new solo album which The Christians' Henry Priestman, who's guesting on the sessions, describes as "by far and away the best stuff he's come up with since leaving Echo & The Bunnymen."

From Henry Priestman's website:

"In 1993 Henry spent a month in the studio as session keyboard player on an (unreleased) album collaboration between Ian McCulloch (ex “Echo and the Bunnymen”) and Johnny Marr (ex “The Smiths”)"
