Bobby Gillespie interview

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Yup.

No need to worry about mentioning the Cure -- Dave Smith is in Sweden.

But by the end of 1992 we had to make a decision whether to be artists or drug addicts. I gave up drugs 11 years ago

interesting timescale..... would that be before he got marched off the stage at Glastonbury?

Bloody autocorrect. Pattinsonian. In the same way could vocals be maccullotian, with the stress on the first two syllables? Not these ones of course, but as lazy journos might describe anyone with a bit of a baritone.

As for Gillespie himself, he does come across as a bit of a nob. He is that glaswegian scally (do they have those) who can't believe he got that lucky, but having done so is going to milk it. Not knocking it bob, if you're watching. I mean didn't they record screamadelica, then give it to the remix bloke who mangled parts beyond recognition. Cue dolt faced press, oo genius, give it a prize. And so on. Saw em at Reading and they were brilliant, should have been headlining really (oasis......)
