Hello from Sweden and the land of cancelled gigs. Good gigs a bit rare here and Mary Chain, The Church and Robert Forster all got binned until next year.

Will Insta...few comments:-
Will doesnt hold back on his disdain for Mac "Who knows what goes on in his head" "Is it Mac on the phone?? erm NO." "ALl my ideas are pushed aside" etc etc....only confirms what we already knew.
Didnt get whats happening with the new album?? Is it recorded ??
Nice to watch anyway and see how humble he is. With all due respect to Kelley Will should be playing with bigger hitters and could...feel like Mac has eroded his confidence. At least live he can do what he wants.

Last question. What teh fuck is sour bread?? A hovis with a lemon inside?

dedicated to Will

Times were so tough, but not as tough as they are now
We were so close and nothing came between us, and the world
No personal situations
Thick as thieves us, we'd stick together for all time
And we meant it but it turns out just for a while
We stole, the friendship that bound us together
We stole from the schools and their libraries
We stole from the drugs that sent us to sleep
We stole from the drink that made us sick
We stole anything that we couldn't keep
And it was enough, we didn't have to spoil anything
And always be as thick as thieves
Like a perfect stranger, you came into my life
Then like the perfect lone ranger, you rode away, rode away
Rode away, rode away
We stole the love from young girls in ivory towers
We stole autumn leaves and summer showers
We stole the silent wind that says you are free
We stole everything that we could see
But it wasn't enough, and now we've gone and spoiled everything
Now we're no longer as thick as thieves
You came into my life
Then like a perfect stranger you walked away, walked away
Walked away, walked away
Thick as thieves us, we'd stick together for all time
And we meant it but it turns out just for a while
We stole the friendship that bound us together
We stole the burning sun in the open sky
We stole the twinkling stars in the black night
We stole the green belt fields that made us believe
We stole everything that we could see
But something came along that changes our minds (we're no longer thick as thieves)
I don't know what and I don't know why (we're not thick as we used to be)
But we seemed to grow up in a flash of time (we're no longer thick as thieves)
While we watched our ideals helplessly unwind (we're not thick as we used to be)
No, we're no longer as thick as thieves, no
We're not as thick as we used to be, no

sour dough bread - made with yeast from the air instead of the big lumps you buy at the shop. So you have to let it grow for a week or so and nurture it and then you make your bread, keeping a bit og the dough to continue growing fro th enext time. Smells a bit I understand. I'd have thought the swedes have loads of that stuff, its really nice (based on zero evidence, haha). Kind of middle class hippyish to make your own, but then many people have time to try it at the moment.

There was some interview not long ago where he said he'd recorded a new glide/solo album but hadn't put it out because he couldn't be bothered. I think I linked it from here somewhere. I'd have thought he'd be able to get a gig with some other band if he wanted. Haven't listened to all of it.

It's posh bread like you get in Waitrose. I get it there sometimes (pre-pandemic) when I go about half seven in the evening and all the £3 posh bastard bread's been reduced to 50p because every twat's been fingering and breathing on it all day. Got a lovely Charlie Bigham Cottage Pie there once for £1.89, down from nearly 8 quid. Don't go there these days because they only let a couple in at a time and they get everyone to queue in the car park a la Disneyland which takes about half an hour to get through ten people, (mind you, my Mum's convinced the people round here only go there nowadays so that people can seen them queuing in the car park as they pass by) and I like Morrison's anyway.

O yes, sour bread, I hear it's particularly tasty with cheese and sour grapes.

Its Pete Byrne half of the management...remember he played some acoustic with Mac at gigs and looked after him .Anyway...I chatted with him when he suddenly disconnected with all things Bunnymen. He had had ahem fist cuffs with the Great one ...didnt want anything to do with him .Hence now it's just Peasy

ah, Toogood's on Peasy's chums list too.I'd be more interested in a sarge solo/glide album than anything bunnyen probably. But they have supposed;y recorded some stuff while they were touring last time.

He’s not in it anymore, but we’re still friends. I’ve been sending him stuff, and he’s been singing on bits. I wrote these tunes and they’re good, and I think they deserve finishing off. I don’t know what’s going to happen with it, if it will be in LP or a single or what. But what we’ve done turned out really good.

thesarge wrote:Well, that’s pretty easy because I don’t write anything for the band anymore. So it doesn’t really happen. Mac does everything.
Why don’t you write anything for the band anymore?
He just doesn’t listen to what I do, so what am I going to do? And he gets his way. So these things that I’ve been sending to Kelley were intended for the Bunnymen. I’ve got loads and loads of ideas, but I’m not going to ever get through.

thesarge wrote:I started writing a book last year, so it’s been quite good for me to get on with it. It’s a biography. I’m enjoying it, it’s like going back in a time machine. It was an exciting time. I’ve got some good stories from school and some weird things that went on. I’ve got a publisher and everything. I do art as well. I’m always busy, I’ve got no problem creating stuff. I’m never bored.
