A snowy night . . .

A snowy night . . .

and the nephew and I knew adventure was awaiting us. . .dreams of pandas and gallant knights led to a fixin' for trouble in the ice covered streets. But the scene's a saddening bore as we've lived it ten times before so we drove to the shore.

But we could heroes - at least drunkenly - so we headed out the door . . .

Weirdly, I do miss nights like that...as a transplant from NY to LA, I get SO used to nice weather (hey, don't laugh) that i miss those weird magical nights, where everything is covered in a light layer of virgin snow and when you go out to take a walk...the night feels almost apocolyptic. it's magical and makes the whole crazy winter worth it for that one night.

With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

we shuffled down the street past the Bishop's castle. And JP Losman's pad. Didn't seem he was gonna be resigned by the local sports franchise and the temptation to send our black francis care package through his window for a jest - but think the better of it - there is adventure awaiting . . .

Don't give up on JP just yet. Plus that would be a waste of some damn fine Wild Turkey.

We walk into Merlin's with our Wild Turkey armour under our coats. Severina, starchild, oh how you have aged since our goth days. Sleeping Kings play on the stage and the nephew codeines out at the bar. I scout around and see the huddled masses of drunken old timers and college state hipsters. Luckily we have dressed so we can cross the class/classless barrier of the 4 am bar scene. Walrus man and Doctor Evazan have approached the boy at the bar.. . .
