Bristol Harbour Festival Review in The Times

Postby DUKE » Mon Jul 18, 2016 4:50 pm

I saw this today in The Times during my tea break at work. The reviewer claims that the band have been in "slow decline for decades". Besides this strange comment the review is very complimentary.

Thanks, Duke. Can you paste the review? The Times has a paywall.

Thanks, FC.

As somebody who first saw Echo & The Bunnymen play live in 1984, this was not a vintage performance by any means.

To add to my ire......

I wasn't at Bristol (conflicting events - Manics in Cornwall) - but FFS can we all be honest, the band did a classic festival set at Bristol!! Can you all tell me that if you rocked up at such a gig and Mac said "here's a newey" you would be happy!! FFS they are playing to the crowd and I for one am happy with that! I don't post often but..........

I was tempted to go, as i haven't been for what seems like an eternity. I guessed it was only going to be an hour/best of set list so not really worth the long haul, not even Nick Heyward as support could drag me there
As FC said "we all know what its like" I will probably go to Oxford though
