I bought a bass guitar!

Tired of discussing the Bunnymen and all the bands that have been influenced by them? This is the place for you.

That's like asking what date is the 4th of July falling on this year!
Every word is like an unnecessary stain on silence and nothingness.

. I am small time so I don't have much else to add. Talk to someone about sound padding if you are really serious. Will uses a Boss GT-8 on stage.

Really look into Ableton before you decide . The engine is 64 bit. Non-destructive, side chain ability, drag and drop samples, the drum machine is EXCELLENT . .great community board where folks are quite helpful . . I used Cubase and just found the learning curve was steep and that toggle key it requires - lose that and you're screwed.

Here is Impulse - the drum machine . .

I love it when the bass is interesting and not just the same ol', same ol'

John Doe, yes!

I remember reading that a lot of bass players tried to do what Peter Hook could do because he did things that were never done before with a bass guitar

I'm only hoping it's not like Monty Python's Spanish Inquistion where the Pope along with a couple of bishops don't decide to come busting into bars that choose to have their celebrations on the 17th!

New Orleans being New Orleans, they're stretching St. Patrick's Day for a few weeks

And since St. Joseph is also huge in NOLA, and his day is March 19, there are combo parades, etc.

And yes, they really do throw cabbages from the floats. Potatoes and carrots too

I think withahip spent some time in Japan.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Yes. That's where the term "Turning Japanese" originated from.

I see they're actually doing stuff on the 17th in NO which is a good thing. Des Moine, Iowa too.
Sorry I keep bringing the subject up about when it's being celebrated. I just see it as the church kind of being like Karl Rove, commiting heinous crimes yet going untouched and STILL having both the power and audacity to dictate to the public their own rules.

I remember we used to call the night before Halloween "cabbage night" except we never threw cabbages, just flour and eggs  I think it has different names in different regions?

Sorry, Mr. Brian!

LOL i've never heard of that. around here the night before is just called "mischief night" and it's typical to have minor things happen like eggs being thrown or your house/trees/garden getting "toilet-papered". i've heard of some bad vandalism in the dodgy neighborhoods though. so i guess it depends on where you live...
