Tired of discussing the Bunnymen and all the bands that have been influenced by them? This is the place for you.

jack - is FiOS way faster than cable? and worth the switch? (despite your Xbox troubles)?

It believe it is way faster. I actually never had good luck with cable broadband. If I recall correctly, I'm getting about 3Mbps download. Upload is also very fast.

The main reason I like FiOS, though, is the HD picture quality. Very low compression, and the HD locals are identical to the OTA signal.

Anyway, back to the Wii

House Of The Dead coming to the Wii - if you've played the arcade game you will know why its such a big deal. No console could do it justice before as it was rubbish with a joystick. But with the Wiimote and multiplayer online options...oh my god, I need to lay down...

I sort of suggested to the wife that I wanted a Wii for my 40th but she said "

Absolutely no way. You are going to be 40 not 14"

I need to get my pants back off that woman

Cool. If you need any help with wireless, let me know.

Just some advice from a newbie.
If you can, rent games first. It's worth the money to see if you really like the game, considering the cost of those games. We rented a couple that we thought might be alright but we ended up playing Wii Sports again that weekend.

Get Wii Play, it comes with a remote so you will have 2 at least. Its 50 bucks but you get some silly games like target shooting (think Duck Hunt from the old days) pool, ping pong, and cow races and stuff. The remote itself is 40 bucks alone so it's a good deal.

I'm 42 and my wife is 37. Our friends around the same age all came over for a Wii party and we played Golf and Tennis and Boxing. It can get real physical, not just a schlump sitting in a chair like people usually think of when they think of video games.

Now we need another nunchuck so I can box my wife.

You should try fighting the giant spiders in Zelda...I could hardly breathe afterwards and my arms were aching for 24 hours afterwards.

Wait till Wii-Fitness hits the US and UK...it looks ace and you get fit.

Thats why I like the Wii more than the X Bollox and the PS3 - you have to move around with all the games and work up a sweat.
