Dr Cheese wrote:Pretty much, yes. Check out the set list from the December gig that someone posted.

"Set List, as retrieved from the stage for those interested:
Lovers on the Run
Do It Clean
Never Stop
Crocodiles
Silver
Seven Seas
My Kingdom
Thorn Of Crowns (on set list but they didn't play it - shame, a personal fave of mine)
Bedbugs and Ballyhoo
Rust
Zimbo
Holy Moses
Rescue
Dancing Horses
The Killing Moon
The Cutter
Encore 1
Nothing Lasts Forever
Lips Like Sugars
Encore 2
The Back Of Love/Ocean Rain (as on set list but Back of Love not played)"

Notably absent. Zero songs from the last 15 years. Nothing from Flowers, Siberia or The Fountain. That really speaks to what Mac and Will think of those albums doesn't it?

Not really, it's more about what the crowd want and expect to see.

Ok, maybe a bit of both.
I love Rust, it's a beautiful song but I don't think most fans are going to EATB shows thinking "gosh I hope they play Rust!". I think Mac likes it and therefore it's in the set.

Empire State Halo, imho, rates among the best songs they have ever written. It has it all: melody, beat, singing, guitar riff.

There has to be some balance though surely, how many other bands that have been around as long as the Bunnymen (or longer) still play predominantly the same set that they were playing 30 years ago?

(cue long list of bands still playing the same songs  )

By clicking on the hyperlinks from your (ironic?) answer that lead anyway to amazon, british release would be 29 may.

I went to see The Cure at The Albert Hall on Saturday night. 45 songs in just short of 4 hours. Songs from pretty much every album, although very Disintegration heavy. So, they pretty much covered the lot.

Can't see Mac managing to even remember the lyrics to so many songs.
